EE13 modem Better service

I have spent time working for a major cell company in backbone support and conditions vary.

Same tower/antennna can give widely different performance to users on different days.

example: Bears games in Chicago market can strain antennas around Soldier Field, antennas that other days can be wide open.

My point is don't look at one day, test for several days before making a conclusion.

I have a much better signal with the ee13 modem. No dropped calls. With the ee14 modem, I was constantly dropping calls.

I may be wrong, but I think that the consensus of opinion on these threads has been that the phone runs best when you allow the OTA update to EE14. Then Root and Run Shabbymod. Of course, now before you do anything, install CWM and backup before each major step. I saw the biggest increase in performance and battery life after doing this. I have not had any dropped calls.

The only annoying thing is that sometimes I have to call a number twice before it rings. Sometimes the person I am calling says they heard me on the first call but I could not hear them. Not sure where the problem is on this and it is not every time but often enough to be irratating.
