So nachommomi, could you tell us if all four US SGS2 will be dual core phone? You said it will all be non-slider, which is nice to hear, but I'm also curious if it will be all dual core Exynos.

It will be dual core...the question has never been if it would be dual core but if it would be exynos or tegra2

last I read on the previous page nacho was trying to find a way to determine which it was...

so far all of the system info apps only show it being an ARM7 ..which could be either.

I am waiting to find out as well...if it is the tegra2 I think I may pick up a UK version

I doubt tegra2 will go in any SGS2. It's clocking at only 1.0Ghz and wouldn't match regular SGS2 performance (quadrant over 3000). Not to mention pissing off a lot of folks here. But 1.5Ghz dual snapdragon in T-mobile, Verizon one is possible as leaked a few times.

You do know that the rumors have been for months that is is going to be the Tegra2 right? :p

I would love to see snapdragon...I have been much more impressed with their processors in the HTC devices

Hey nacho...if you are out there...have the guy run a cpu benchmark and see what it's clocking at...

As far as I know there has been no SGSII model that has tegra2 in it with other specs equal to regular SGSII. The only Samsung phone that got tegra2 so far is Galaxy Z (GT-I9103) that's released as Galaxy R in Europe. Spec wise it's not quite true SGSII as it has 8Gb internal storage, SLCD screen and 5mp camera.

We still can't rule out possibility of having tegra2 in US SGSII model, but I haven't seen anything indicating so yet.

There have been half a dozen articles "speculating" it may....

Thus the reason we have asked nacho to try and check it out

i never said there was an sgs2 in production that had the tegra2 lol

When it first launched oversea, Sammy said some regions might get tegra2 instead of exynos. And a few months ago, Galaxy Z popped up with tegra2 and slightly less spec than SGSII.

Rumors on US SGSII getting tegra2 are just based on those. Still Sammy didn't make any true SGSII with tegra2 (Galaxy R isn't it). Time will tell but I think it won't make into US SGSII. Plus nacho here got 3244 quadrant on Attain and if that's real I don't see how 1Ghz tegra2 can achieve that score.

[Rumor] Samsung Epic Touch 4G Releasing September 9th Sprintfeed

so...att getting it first pretty much would mean the weekend of the 2nd ;)

announce 8/29

Att release 9/2 (maybe sunday 9/4)

Sprint 9/9

T mobile rumored 10/26

Verizon....who knows...but rumored to be last

And according to this, Attain is dropping on 08/28 just a day before Sammy announcement whether you believe it or not.

And I don't think Verizon one is dropping last. It will come before iPhone5 at least. That's their strategy, stealing iPhone5 thunder by launching it ahead of it.

At this point the Iphone is rumored to be late October/November i thought at the soonest ..so Verizon could still be last ....I was shocked to see tmo's rumored date to be end October

I am disappointed that the article has no source/proof :(

But it is great news indeed.

I need to sell my infuse!!!

I was thinking the same as you based on the quadrant.

I think the main concern is this..at least in my case...I would rather just go ahead and buy the UK version SGSII if the US version releases with lack luster hardware.

Just halfway confirmed the 29th with Best Buy

I asked if they were going to be taking pre-orders and he said they did not show anything in the system yet for pre-orders but that they had just heard of the release this morning....when I asked him to confirm the release date (that he just gave me) he stumbled and said to call back in a couple of days haha.

Calling a few more places to see what I can get :p

This article contradicts itself all over the place. But it's cool that info is coming in from multiple sources that AT&T will have it on sale the 28th, but why in the world would they release a day before the Samsung launch event? Maybe they're not happy about the way Sammy is trying to run the show and this is their big one fingered wave? Very odd. A big thank you to everyone posting their "gathered" info here, though. This is what a rumor thread should look like! ;)

Pretty smart really....imediately available for the big samsung reveil and they beat everyone with a release date.

They will be the only place to buy when samsung does the big deal on the 29th.

I could see them gaining quite a few impatient folks from other carriers

This is the very reason it will have the faster processor. What competitive or economic advantage would there be to releasing an inferior varriant in the US? But we'll know for sure soon, maybe in as little as a week. Woohoo!

It's possible (although if you're that impatient, why haven't you bought another phone already?). I guess I thought they'd release the same day if there was a "rah rah, look at us, we got it first, yay Samsung!" sort of motivation. I know AT&T "always" releases on Sundays, but still ... maybe my work environment just makes me see political motivations behind everything these days :p

Some have actually bought the euro version. Other thsn that ...there really isnt much out right now that compares....i mean the lg thrill comes out tomorrow but it got so so reviews.. And then there is the bionic but has it released yet?

I think the closest competitor "out now" is the sensation.

I am still curious of what the second big event is all about....the one with the fancy trailer on youtube. Maybe LTE ...who knows
