Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong place.

Secondly, yes I did do a search but couldn't find anything directly related the this issue; but if it has been covered somewhere else the please also forgive me and point me in the right direction please.

O.K. platitudes over here's the problem.

I'v just taken delivery of my first Android based phone, a Samsung Galaxy Ace - though I don't believe either the make or model has anything to do with the issue.

I'm simply trying to upload and install a number of apps from the Android Market but when I click on install on the web page I get the message "There are no Android phones associated with this account. Please sign in with a different account."

So I followed the help instructions and accessed Android Market from my mobile phone using the Market app but get the message "Your User ID and Password Do Not Match"

But I'm using the same ID and Password that I use to log into both Google and Android Market from my PC!!!!!:thinking:

I don't have, (or want), another/different account. Life is complex enough as it is with so many site logins to remember, (each with different ID's and Passwords etc). :(

The primary, (and only email address associated with my Google Account) is my sky.com address - and I do get messages from Google from time to time on it so I know it works.

Have emailed support with full details of the problem but all they did was email back with exactly what was on their help page..... which is what I did..... which didn't work!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm also perfectly able to receive emails from my sky.com mailbox on my phone.

I seem to be in an impossible loop.

Can anyone help please?

TIA

Best Regards

Peter

Tried that, but I get the same message "Your Username and Password do not match. Please try again":thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking:

shot in the dark.....is it @gmail or @googlmail.

mmm ok go to settings accounts remove the account.,(its not working anyway) then click add account and try adding the account again and make to use the correct @name (gmail o googlemail) i did this mistake when i first got my ace. :D

Thanks all for the suggestions, greatly appreciated. :)

Well, I'm finally up and running. And if anyone else has a similar problem here's the solution...........

Even though I already have a Google account, and could log in to both it and Android Market from my PC, I still had to go through the process of 'creating' an account from the Market App on my phone to be able to use it.

Seems strange I know, but it worked, though I now have two accounts and two different logins..... Oh well, I'm up and running and that's the main thing. I guess at some stage I'll have to delete my original login - but I'll keep it for now, just in case. ;):D

If you have 2-step verification enabled in your Google account, go to Account Settings -> Account Overview -> Using 2-Step Verification -> Edit, generate a new password, and use that to sign into your Google account on your phone.

It'd be really, really helpful if the error message was "Your Username and Password do not match. Are you using 2-Step Verification? If so, sign into your account on your computer and generate an application-specific key to sign into your Google account on your phone." Would've saved me a lot of hassle.
