Root what is s.off ?

so if i flash a newer version of the same rom , do i have to delete everything and start again , or just flash over the top so to speak .

i'm using the same ROM, but data++ version.

when the next update comes along, you should be able to flash the A2SD+ version straight over the top without wiping anything. as always nandroid just in case.

if you want to convert to data++ version, there is a good FAQ linked on virtually every page of the xda thread. you can't flash it straight over the top.

you would need to S-OFF, change hboot CM7r2, and a full wipe before installing. backup and restore user apps using titanium.

it sounds a faff, but that FAQ is very very useful. a lot of people posting in the main thread need to read it!

its everything you need to know in written in a way that if you follow it step by step you will understand what you are doing and will be less likely to encounter problems
It is large as it covers nearly every eventuality but its good

basically if you want to know about s-off read the section about it in the guide and it will tell you.

you dont have to read and understand it all at once, only when you need to achieve something
