Root Unrooting HTC Evo 4g

I have unrooted my htc evo 4g but, I can't get the s-off to s-on. When I try to run unrevoked s-on tool it gives me the bricked screen. Red Android man with triangle what can I do when the PC36img runs it bypasses the bootloader and everything else says ok.

What is your hboot? If it is 2.16 then you need to follow the Gingerbread Rooting guide to unroot. If it is 2.10 or below them follow the Rooting for Dummies Guide. Unrevoked s-on tool only works for 2.10 and below.

I used the rooting for dummies it has nice instructions but, when I placed the unrevoked s-on tool on the sd card and turn it back on it gives me the red triangle and I'm stuck. It won't go into recovery. My hboot is 2.10.

Did you flash the PC36IMG file first? It sounds like you have the stock recovery. The s-on tool needs to be flashed before flashing the pc36img file to return to stock. Go here to download the PC36IMG file for amon ra 2.3 and follow the instructions there to get it flashed. After you have recovery back, go to recovery and flash the s-on tool. Then remove the Amon RA file and put the PC36IMG file for the RUU on your sdcard. Reboot to hboot and tell it to flash. You should be back to stock and s-on at that point. Let us know if you need more specific steps to get there.
