New Flytouch Custom ROM Funnycomb Beta 4

Status
Not open for further replies.
This modified Android 2.2 Tim5A with theme and wallpaper from Honeycomb is working on EVERY tablet with DISCO10 motherboard, doesn't matter if it is Superpad III or Flytouch 3 or Haipad or MA1002 or Ibex tablet.

No it doesn't, and yes it does matter which tablet you have.

It WILL brick the wifi on some models, I just hope your claim will be held up when your customers have to return models back to you which have been bricked by using this rom.

And this rom is specifically branded Ibex & apad.tv, so if any tablet bricked by using this rom was not bought from Ibex resellers, then I bet they will not be covered by any warranty right? Unless they bought them from you.

Have a nice day. :)

I have tested randomly 10 tablets from my stock, and loaded this firmware, I can confirm that all is OK and my tablet will be NOT bricked.
Maybe other sellers will experience this problem, so waht is recommended to do a test on tablets being sold by them.

Anyway, I know that tablets sold by me have really high quality and Tim5A and FunyComb works perfectly.

Probably Ibex and my tablets have the same motherboard manufacturer.

But you just posted this not too long ago.

If You have recently bought the Flytouch 3 tablet with DISCO10 model, please check what is the version of Your current firmware.
If the Android version is:
2.2-20110803 - it means that You have THE LATEST model, with the THE LATEST version of motherboard signed as:

MID10-IX210-V.2.0
2011-04-10

UNDER NO ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DO NOT USE ANY FIRMWARE FOUND ON THE INTERNET
as they are to old for Your tablet.

EVEN famous firmware TIM5A is not working properly

WHY ?
After flashing with a different firmware than factory supplied a WIFI is not working, and it is NOT POSSIBLE to restore WIFI even after re-flashing with the same firmware named: 20110803 which can be found on the Internet as it is for older models.

If You will flash a firmware and lose WiFi connection - THERE IS NO WAY TO RESTORE, YOU MUST SEND THIS TABLET BACK TO A SERVICE for Wifi restoration.

This is NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY, so DO NOT ATTEMPT to flash your tablet.

One way to get WiFi back is to DUMP working sd-card and copy a raw image onto a destination card (You must open a tablet and lose a warranty).

So which is truth and which is not? If it voids the warranty why would you be posting here that a custom rom is working, without a disclaimer that using it would void your warranty? Isn't that just setting users up for problems?

As You said - long time ago ;-)

I do read carefully all forums, not english only, russian (as I know russian language), chinese as well and I've found a solution, everything is OK now. It was a small error in a firmware configuration, nothing wrong with the hardware.

So if someone flashes custom firmware and bricks it, you will still stand behind the warranty on your pads?

I see that you are not giving up, but I know that you are Ibex fanboi ;-)

really, I can't understand why you don't understand that Ibex has exactly the same motherboards like others !

My questions is:

If someone will flash the Ibex tablet and will brick it, will the Ibex still stay behind the warranty ?

Yes, Their official resellers do and will and they support ROM development and Tim's firmware. Their customer support will recommend flashing to Tim's roms if their is an issue with the stock. I do not own an Ibex. So please answer my question. Does flashing a custom ROM onto a Flytouch purchased from you void the warranty?

You have posted conflicting information previously and I am just asking you to clarify. First it was hardware then it was software, then you post that the custom firmware works after stating that custom firmware voids your warranty.

If it is in the settings.apk then what is the fix for people having the issue now? Will flashing a new firmware with a bootloader fix it? Will replacing the settings.apk from the same revision ix the issue? What was your reason for saying it was a hardware issue? You say firmware will be available in a couple of days, from where/who?

Also I ask you not try to misrepresent what I have said:

I said not so long ago. It was only 12 days ago.

Enought time to find a solution ;-)

Yes, I do accept a warranty if someone will use a custom ROM as it doesn't affect tablets being sold be me.

I have a special support website for my Customers.

I do provide a full UK support for my Customers and in case of the warranty issues, they don't have to send a tablet at

Gentlemen, I'm removed most of the confrontational phrases and words from your posts because they make these device forums a not so pleasant place to visit, and because they are against user guidelines here at Android Forums.

I will now lock the thread, as it appears to have run its course. I respectfully request that the subject matter of this thread not be re-posted in new threads or brought into other existing threads. ;)
