Root So many types of roms to choose from!!!

I'm a flashaholic just looking to get some good feedback on the difference between ROMS builds. I was looking thru this helpful link below

http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/284413-roms-kernels-download-page.html

I've tried several already. However the link doesnt really say what the differences are between them. It can become kind of overwhelming with so many Roms along with all the kernels, themes, (scripts that I have no idea what the purpose serves or how it effects roms) and so on. I'm sure there's plenty of flashers that do know the difference but I'm speaking for those that dont...

Normally when I do flash a rom its usually the battery life chase however I'm always looking for anything fresh that makes my Evo look or perform different then a factory Evo, faster, just jaw dropping features other phones dont have if that makes sense?

Basically I just wanted some feedback, pros and cons from people that know the difference between the different types of ROMS below per your own experience. Short versions of your opinion is cool..

Sense

Betas or Works in Progress

Gingerbread Official OTA 4.53.651.1

Gingerbread Official OTA 4.24.651.1

Gingerbread 2.3.3 + Sense 2.1

GingerBread w/ Sense 3.0

Froyo OTA 3.70.851.1

Ports

AOSP's (heard from Oznbrze better battery life from these)

Thanks in advance!

Lyvewire, It depends on what you want. Most of those Rom's do have a thread here that talks about it. Or you can serach through the link you posted and see some discussion on various ones.
You also have the option to go to the XDA site and read the original thread on each Rom, but those tend to get long and off topic.

I have been playing with the Sense 3.0 Rom's myself. I love the 360 carousel from the EVO 3D. It comes to personal preference I suppose.

I'll try AOSP in the future but I see that being a month or two down the road.

Oh I love the song Livewire by Motley Crue. Even a little cowbell at the end.:D

Sense

Betas or Works in Progress

These are the new sense 3.5 roms with all the greatest features that are coming out for other phones and being ported to our EVO's. However, they are still in progress and have too many things not working for me to use everday.

These are for people that are willing to test beta's, find bugs, and want to be on the cutting edge of what is available.

Gingerbread Official OTA 4.53.651.1

Gingerbread Official OTA 4.24.651.1

The official OTA's are just that, the updates sprint sends Over The AIR (OTA) to your phone. These are considered "stock" and are safe to flash. You never want to accept an OTA or it could mess up your phone. Wait for them to be flashable. People usually flash these before unrooting.

Gingerbread 2.3.3 + Sense 2.1
If you want to play with sense 2.1 I would suggest MikG 2.5 or synergy. Snese 2.1 has been out for a while and as a result these roms are stable and most are finished.

GingerBread w/ Sense 3.0
Sense 3.0 has more bells and whistles than sense 2.1. I am currently running Mik3D from this set of ROMS. Synergy-Kingdom | NIGHTLYS | 2.3.3 | SENSE 3.0 is also a good one.

Froyo OTA 3.70.851.1

Froyo is the android operating system below the current(gingerbread). I stay away from these

Ports

AOSP's (heard from Oznbrze better battery life from these)
AOSP gets rid of sense and enables you to do more customization. They have better battery life, but I don't like the UI without sense so I stick with sense ROMS. They feel like a downgrade to me but are definitely worth a try.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the feedback Naters. Yea I'm on XDA sometimes too. However by going thru the zillions of pages over there I've found more out about the Rom rather then the build of the rom. I'm looking to really distinguish the build types between each other.

For example I learned why some people go with the AOSP's is because its less internal memory which it turn means less battery drain. what I dont like about those roms is several are missing things you need to add after. I'm kind of a more basic "flash a rom and kernel" and leave it alone kind of guy..I enjoyed the 3D carousel too. Few of the roms were buggy though...

*Checked that song Livewire out too..Thats some hardcore sh@!..

i'm a sense 3.0 and up kind of guy as well. i love mik3d, my favorite rom to date. but you know i miss my battery life with aosp so i'm back on it now. plus i miss sbc kernels. not sure what the hold up is with sbc on the gingerbread sense kernels. i just wish that there was a sense kernel that can equal what i get with tiamat. best kernel around for my phne at least. i'm a flashaholic so i flash roms all the time so my suggestion is just to try a few others out there. i know that there are many bugs but you should check out the bliss rom and the runnymede roms. sense 3.5 will be huge once they figure everything out on them.

I know what you mean about flashing and just run it for awhile. I am going to try some of the sense 3.0 on GB 2.3.5 next though I think.
I've been on Evolvedroms R3charged 3D RLS1ish and I like it alot. The only issue I thought i had went away after a reboot. which was attaching pictures from gallery to texts.

Hardcore? it's from 1982. That gets played on the oldies stations practically.;) I gues you didn't make your sign in name due to being a Cr
