What is going on with the Market? (and how to fix)

I dont know if it is my phone but it seems like the market is either very slow to load or not load at all. Is it just updates that they are doing ? I am running on a SGS2

Have you updated to the latest version? Is it possible that the current version of market is a bit too demanding on your phone. Try uninstalling updates, and see how it runs like that.

No It was stuck running in the back ground I had to restart my phone and it is up and running. I hope it is not to much for my phone ?

Wait, is the market running in the background, or taking a long time to load once you start the app? I'm confused here

There is no possible way with/without updates. If the market was slow on a Galaxy S II, it would be much slower on any other Android device. Unless the market was having device specific problems, which I haven't heard about with this device.

To OP are you loading the market using 3g? The only thing I could see slowing it down, would be a slow data connection.

Mine was like that with the market update. I went into manage apps, market, uninstall update and that returned it to the older (and in my opinion better) app. Later it automatically re-updated and now it's ok.

Market was slow for me the last 2 days.

I was running on Wifi. It seems to be up and running now. I just restarted my phone if I think about it I tried to open the market when the phone was going from 3g to wifi maybe that did something. But it is running ok now..

I get the feeling that the slowdown has something to do with Google updating the Market with +1.

Browser acts funny when I'm changing between 3G and WiFi as well, so that could have been it. Next time, use the back button to quit the program or force close it, then start it up again. Hope that helps!

I resolved all my market slowness by going to

Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Market

then cleared BOTH cache and data.

Now it's perfect.

Thanks, I was having problems also. I followed your advice and it worked.
