Are any of the other "extended" batteries any good?

I have the official 2750 battery, and the battery life is definitely nice. But I'm kind of tired of having the extra protrusion on the back of my phone. Are any of the smaller ones good for battery life? I've heard of ones that range from 1600-1750, but I've also heard that some of them are fake, and/ or the battery life is near identical to the stock 1400 battery...

The thing you said about the "higher capacity" batteries is pretty much true. I bought 2 "1800mah" batteries and compared to the stock battery, they are most likely 1500mah in reality. I only noticed a slight improvement over stock with those batteries, but it is still slightly better and I got both batteries for less than $10 shipped, so I think they are worth it, as long as they are cheap enough, which mine were. I got mine from eBay.

3rd world off brand renaming companies do not have magic powers that defy the laws of physics. They do not make 1700 or 1800MAH batteries that take up the same space as your stock 1400 does. What they do is they buy 1300 or 1400MAH batteries and claim they are 1700 and sell them to you for a profit. This is not theory or conjecture, it's proven fact. Because of how widely variable battery life on a smartphone can be, they get away with it by just telling you that your mileage may vary depending on use.
