This question is for anyone who owned the og droid and then uprgraded to the droid 3. I have an upgrade coming up in november and i want to get the droid 3 but i have heard a lot of complaints about the blue camera, battery life, focus problems, sticky buttons, etc. if anyone has upgrade from the og to the 3 please let me know if you are satisfied with ur upgrade or would you rather stick with the og droid.

You picked the perfect time to upgrade. The update fixed all of that stuff. I came from the OG Droid as well. I picked it back up the other day after a month of not using it and it just seems so ancient now. You won't be disappointed. The only knock I have on this phone is that it's not 4g, but I don't really care about that. I use WiFi when I'm at home and it moves nice and swift. This phone has, hands down, the best keyboard I've ever used.

I had the OG Droid and upgraded. I have been thrilled with it! My OG Droid became very slow (I never rooted), but this one FLIES. The blue tint is gone with the upgrade (but was easily correctable on the computer, anyway). Battery life is much improved after the upgrade, but I ended up buying the extended battery just after getting the phone. I get more than 24 hours with the extended battery, easily. In fact, today I had to take a road trip for work, played Pandora the entire 3 hour drive (each way), made phone calls and still have plenty of battery life. I'll probably have to charge it sometime tomorrow.

I'd highly recommend this phone.

+1...I just fired my og droid up to setup for wife as a ipod for her car and can't believe I used it for 2 years! the d3 is WAY better, and I flashed the leaked OTA update from the beginning, so it has been great ever since....

I really like the D3 but at this point, I think I'd wait for the Nexus to be released and compare. Almost all my complaints have been fixed but the camera app is unbelievably slow. Slow as in everyone is done smiling by the time this thing takes a picture. Slow as in it freezes and you *think* you got the picture but then it all of a sudden unfreezes and quick snaps the pic while you are moving the camera. Admittedly this is minor in the grand scheme of things, but if my D1 hadn't died, I would have waited for the Bionic or the Nexus.

I updated from OG to D3 and I really love it.

They keyboard took a little time to get used to with the numbers on top, but it really is great after about a week.

I miss not having a camera button.

The recent updates have helped a few things. The camera seems much improved. I just recently discovered the landscape feature, piecing together 5 shots at once, automatically!

The screen resolution is nice. People complain about the pixel layout, but I have not noticed anything on the D3.

Stability has been good. I had a couple of resets (mostly camera related) before the recent update. I don't think I have had a reboot since the update.

One thing I noticed, I wiped my OG leaving only Angry Birds so my kids could play. The OG flew! I don't know if it was all the applications or the GBs of crap in my gallery, but the interface was awesome! You may want to totally clean out your OG and see what happens.
