Help **Request** Ascend PRL 3020 Update Tutorial

I had to go back and use the 3022. With the 3024 i was either getting 3G or nothing not even 1x. But have not had any issues all day with the 3022 PRL. I think it's hit and miss in some areas.

I got 3024 automatically. Where exactly do you live in Dallas that caused that? I don't ever have the problem.

If you change it after 3020, then don't come back complaining it doesn't work, not directed at anyone, you need to understand that if the towers aren't around, then it won't matter if you have 3030.

Be patient and wait to see how the Data feeds to your phone in your immediate area, just because my friend who lives in Garland is running 3026, doesn't mean I'll go chasing it. Only exception is 3019 as it doesn't have 3G in the list.

Remember, this is Metro, if you want something better, then grab a 4G LTE, like the Samsung Indulge.
 
Well i would not mind but i'm a bit stumped. The status shows 3025 but if you open up the prl file using QPST, after you have read your phone then saved and then opened with RL editor, the prefered roaming list showed 3019 in the upper right corner.

...which is percisly why I shame all that try to jump the gun and grab the newest PRL. That isn't even the newest one, we're on 3026 now.

Still, I would wait for others to catch up before we start playing with the PRL files. I just noticed and I too, am on 25 now, all by myself with no tampering.

You shouldn't need the latest PRL if there's no 3G in your area. Getting an updated PRL with 3G being present can come with problems, 26 is making my 3G very spotty even outside the area and just today...one app drained my Ascend's battery while in Mesquite. That's what I get for trying to use Metro. :<

Really now? I must travel westbound more often then. Being up North/NorthEast, I don't see it happen but its there...really strange. o_O

last night my phone was on 3025 but i accidently updated it and appearantly downgraded it to 3019 and i followed all the steps and i did them right but my phone doesnt pop up im on COM7 PLEASE HELP I REALLY WANT PRL 3025 BACK ANG 3G!!!:( :mad:

Never heard of a 3026 PRL either, Althought I'm waiting anxiously for it to be released as it may fix many users 3G problems over at my XDA thread.

Shout Out to all if anyone has the 3026 PRL lleme know, Greatly appreciate it.

I was just asking because I've had 3025.prl for over a month now, and from what I understand metro pcs updates prl's every 7 to 10 days. I also read a thread somewhere that someone said they had the 3026.prl.

never heard of it, do you have a link where you read that at?
 
two weeks ago I contacted MetroPCS and told the that someone with the ascend was sitting in my house and that they had 3g It tooh 8 days after a trouble ticket was put in and me calling over and over they updated me with the 3025 prl

No I don't, I should've bookmarked that particular thread. But post #'s 178, 182 and 185 mention the 3026.prl. I'm pretty sure there is a 3026 somewhere, its just a matter of someone posting it somewhere. I've been manually updating ppl on metro to 3025, I've must've done about 2 doz phones and I've only seen 1 phone (Huawei Ascend 3024.prl) on prl greater than 3019. I've even seen 3018 prls on newer devices. I guess the point I'm trying to make is, metro is deliberately not updating prl's to anything higher than 3019 in most cases. On another note, has anyone ever noticed that flashed phones to metro have better data speeds than stock metro phones? If so, why is that?

cause with faster phones, the internet runs better from me testing the admire to the ascendwith the same prl' but also it depends on the spot your in as metro 3g is real spotty in different area's, metro should just bite the bullet and get real 3g like other carriers. (IMO) :cool:
 
SO I was going to push my prl which is at 19 and it went up to 25 on its own. i would show you but dont know how to do screenshot.

download snapshot from market and you can set it to take a pic from shaking the phone.
