Help Just bought this phone, few questions!

Hello everyone,

I bought this phone yesterday and I must say that I'm quite happy with it. My last phone was the Samsung Intensity so it's one hell of an upgrade. However, I have few questions:

1- I've noticed the battery runs out quite fast. I'm trying to kill every app when I'm done with it to avoid loading the RAM with apps I no longer use and I reduced the brightness. Is there something else I could do to make sure my battery won't run out really fast? Of course I can deactivate the WiFi, GPS, notifications from apps but is there something else I should know?

2- I heard that Samsung adds a bunch of apps to the phone that I will most-likely never use. If it's true, is there any I should get rid of?

3- What apps would you suggest me to get? So far, I got: Wi-Fi Finder (I don't have Internet access with my plan), Facebook, Shazam, Flashlight, Ringdroid. I also had Advanced Task Killer but it was draining my battery really fast so I decided to uninstall it.

Also, I heard most of the apps are coded in Java. I know the language but I've never coded something for phones, are these packages or anything I can add to Eclipse? There has to be some open-source methods and functions.

Thank you very much for your support, it is very appreciated.

1. about a day is what the battery can do. At the beginning you are probably using it all the time. The display uses a lot of battery. I have the brightness at almost 50% and I don't see a great difference between 0% brightness. For more than a day of battery life, you could buy the 1500mAh battery, that some people say there is.

2. To get rid of Samsungs default apps you need root, which voids your warranty, so I don't think you should uninstall. Idk if there is a app among them that are active (not in my region at least), but you can uninstall the updates of the samsung app maket or what name it has.

3. there are alot of apps you should get, but just from the top of my head: Roboto font skin, Media Player Pro, Meganoid, Quick Settings, Lantern, Cut the Rope, Earbits, etc.
