Its nothing to shake a stick at. I recently replaced a 9200 mAh battery in a device with a 9400 mAh unit I assembled from two 4700mAh cells.
The The 9400 mAh got and average of 15 hours more usage than the 9200mAh.

100 more in a cell of that size is a welcomed increase that should mark a noticeable increase to those whom can compare.

As fare as size, They are limited but can tweak with the shape to get what they want. Its basically wrapped foil. A short thicker one can be the same as a long thinner cell.

While I honestly believe you, there are two things going on. 9200 to 9400mAh is about 2% difference. Getting 15hrs extra is not much help without a reference. By my calcs, that battery is lasting 675hrs (28.5 days), so getting 15hrs extra, while impressive, isn't that much considering the scope of things.

OR

More likely, the previous battery was on it's way out, and replacing it with brand new fresh cells gave you the extra power that you've been missing. So while a fraction of that extra time was due to extra capacity, most of it was due to a new battery.

All else equal, the battery in the GNex is a 6% increase, and should last 6% longer (eg 24hrs vs. 25.44hrs). But the LTE radio does take more power, so I expect it to be a wash to the GSM version.

My first thought was that she would be in some sort of training all day.

My second thought was that Verizon would be announcing something, but it would only be a teaser.

SGN training?! And after that all day, she probably doesn't want to hear more about it anymore?

Possibly, but she doesn't work in a position where she would need to train on a phone.

It could also be that she's majorly PMSing and doesn't want to be bothered.

I don't know. I guess we will see tomorrow.

Custom roms will also be quicker and from my understanding, run just as good or better than what you will get from Samsung. Also, samsung seems pretty quick on their updates. The updates however are stalled stateside by the carriers. This is why I love Nexus! Hmm, I see a marriage in my future!

On att it took them six months just to get froyo for the original galaxy s

I can't see 100 mah being more than 30 minutes of actual use. Maybe 2 hours standby.

If people are swapping out 1400mah TB batteries for more than double and are getting a full days use and then some out of heavy usage. I just can't see 100 mah being like OMG THIS IS SOOO MUCH BETTER WHEN I USE IT.

Of course, take this for what it is worth, so...

Had to go buy a new dishwasher today at my local sears which is in the mall, so while there I popped in at Verizon. I asked the obligatory question if she knew anything about the SGN and the rep was very excited. She clearly liked the phone and was able to spout out all the specs, so she was at least a bit knowledgeable. She said they don't have a ton of info but she knows for sure they are getting it and she said "she would be shocked if they didn't have a pre-order period...even if it was just a week long." She said at least that's the talk around her store (corporate).

So, again, take it with a proverbial grain of salt, but... at least it is chatter.

That would suck majorly. That close to a major holiday, shipping could get really screwed.

That's true, but I would take the risk; I mean if this is true, then I don't see other options other than waiting until after the holiday, who knows maybe that may end up better if shipping is gonna get screwed.

So Han, do you think this could be what your sister is referring too? She didn't say not to text her today right? ;)

Why does it matter? 100 bump is better than no bump.

I can. It depends on the phones drain levels also. 100 more in an HTC may drain faster than 100 in a GN.

With out a crystal ball all we can do is play the guessing game until we try it and then who will have the smaller on to compare it with.

So we can say and "Think" all we want be it in a doubting hopeful way, its all BS until the Fat Lady sings it.:D

i don't know. I can take it 1 of 3 ways, knowing her:

1. Pre-order or something really exciting will be officially announced by verizon (like a definite release date or something). I am not to call her squealing like a little girl.

2. Something bad is going to happen, like verizon will officially announce that it's not coming til december. I am not to call her crying like a little girl.

3. She will be in an important meeting and can't be bothered. I am not to call her like a whiny little girl.

It could be anything. The only reason i even thought of #2 is because in that vz document that was comparing the razr, rehound, and sgn, it said something like "in the next month we will be releasing all these phones", and not "in november we will be releasing. . .". So, does "in the next month" mean "in the next 30 days"? Or does it mean november?

I'm probably over analyzing it and it will most likely be something like #1.

To paraphrase Tom Hanks, "there's no crying in android forums!"

See this link to a video on making them.

So...

I am not going to dispute your claims (odd things happen with batteries--a few small change in the crystal lattice can greatly change usage time), but I will say this:

Your claim is physically impossible given that the two batteries were tested under the same usage profile and were both in good shape.

Battery capacity (in practice--the theoretical capacity is calculated very differently) is the integral of current dTime. Given the same usage profile (I will assume a constant current I0 where I0 is the max amps out), and solving for the given mAh, we see that the 9.4 Ah battery should have lasted only slightly more than 2% longer.

Now, if your usage profile of current vs time shared a shape with something like a Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution, we would see that a small increase in capacity would yield huge time returns, as I evaluated at t approaches infinity is about zero. However, that would be a flawed test.

I can't wait for the SGN! Things on my TBolt that I used to be fine with (the huge size, for one) are no annoying me because I know my next phone will be so nice and thin/light.
