Root [UPDATED 28/12 - NEW INSTALLER] CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3.4 Is avaliable for GT540!

Hi all,

I installed the update from recovery and it sad installation is successful. But after I reboot I'm getting the nothing but the Cyanogen 7 logo (that rotating arrow). How do I fixed this issue.

Updating from Cyanogen 6 (2.2 Froyo)

Thanks.

It's a boot loop - your best bet is reflash through recovery again - sometimes when it installs it doesn't do what it's supposed to.

Another recovery update would be pointless, it'd just do the same thing. You need to wipe your data. Assuming you already have your data backed up, go into recovery and wipe your data. CM7 will now boot.

Mur4ik has released a new version of SwiftDroid today. This version 'ASIS' could be the final release of SwiftDroid v2.0 says Mur4ik on his Twitter.

Hosnetly, I will invest in new phone. Overall I am very pleased with this (cheap) phone BUT... it needs 2.3.
This whole thing here works fine except for one thing and this thing is major thing ... screen calibration.
To be fair this is great work and well done but ever since I first updated my calibration went wrong and there is no way to bring it back even with original flash file.
Hardware is 100% OK (I tried to replace with touch from another phone ).

Unfortunately (for me and my wallet) despite being satisfied overall with this phone and this mod I will have to buy new phone, screen miscalibration is absolutely unacceptable.

I'm doing the same when my upgrade comes about in April next year. It's a shame that's so long away.. the phone simply isn't powerful enough for what I want it to do...

I do want to do the same, but right now I dont have the money to, atm I wanna get an xperia play, but things may change when I do have the money, and for me the problem is that it is underpowered Mur4ik and all the modders for this phone have done an awesome job just a shame really.

Things may have been differant if it had a better touchscreen, but that and how underpowered it is make it hard to keep.

I can see that it's turning into a bit of a trend here. I too upgraded - I'm slowly teaching myself java and sdk development so I can start making apps and possibly a custom rom or theme for a rom.

I updated to the latest mod on the LG but haven't noticed the issue with the earphones.

I'll still keep checking in here only cos my GT540 was my first android. But I'll be spending a lot more time in the HTC forums. Finally upgraded to the Sensation. It's funny, the screen is bigger than the whole LG phone.

thanks for helping me out with everything... :)

Awww seems like everyone is leaving the GT540 behind, but I guess I can understand, I will be as soon as I can afford it.

There's a much better app for oom grouping. I use it. It's called Auto Memory Manager; if you decide to use it, then let me know and I'll give you my settings which work brilliantly.

I'll look more into that V6 super charger and get back to you :)

EDIT: Can you link me to the V6 Super charger? I thought I saw it on XDA a while back, but now I can't find it

here i copied the thread from xda a while ago
but put it in the wrong section!! ;)

to0 bad that you're all leaving this kind of phone .. i just bought it last march .. T_T

I'll prolly still help, and god knows when I will have the money, to upgrade so it could be a while, and while people were talking about it, i thought I would give my intentions, I will be holding onto the phone as well when I do eventually upgrade so I will beable to try out updates and everything.

The problem is in the later versions of android there are too many features this phone will not support because it is underpowered compared to modern phones. But I will be sticking around for a while still.
