***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I was said today that it won't work on the Nexus. Only phones with cards can utilize USB. A lot of technical blah blah about internal mem phones not able to do that, like the tablets without cards. Sorry.

I'd like to know where you heard that USB hosting wasn't possible with phones without external memory. I think nj02vette and nkk can back me up on this, we had a discussion way back when about USB hosting, and it was confirmed that the Nexus would utilize USB hosting, per a Phandroid article. I even made a separate thread about it.\

Edit: Ah, semi-ninja'd by BlueBiker ;)

 I was conceived in '77

It was originally thought to be named Vigor, which is a solid name and sounds like it will withstand whatever you do to it. ReZound just doesn't have that ring.

Did you mean other than the sound of crickets from Verizon?

All can be accomplished, it just wont be about the Nexus

I think Steven should add a poll.

I missed you guys! (I enjoyed dinner but as soon as it was over my thought was 'how much did I miss?'

^this

These made me laugh. I would get it if Motorola puts one out

Why 1 handed?

Bye. Don't be a stranger

Wow, my neck of the woods. As in I can walk to Fair Lawn

Might be twistastic

There should be a toggle switch.

this has to be the most multi-Quotes in one post EVER!! haha

Are you sure about that? I think they were refering to USB mass storage when connected to a computer, not USB OTG. You have a link?

Edit: you sneaky ninjas...

I don't know. I'm sporting the Incredible 2 right now as a loaner from Verizon until the SGN comes out, and I'm really liking it.

All black accents makes it look like Darth Vader's phone, lol.

Screen is sharp, reception is really good.

Battery life isn't that great though. I actually think that my OG Droid had better life than this. But overall I can't complain too much.

Loaner? How'd you pull that off? Or, are you taking advantage of the extended return?

FYI - The RAZR and Rezound boards really hate the way that we bash their phones. They call us Nexus Fan Boys that act like 13 year old boys. Sadly, I am guilty of that as well; they are probably right.

I have nothing against Motorola or HTC. I just don't like the custom UIs. I'm rooting for whatever company partners with Google for the Nexus line.

I also think it's perfectly fine to go for one of those phones if you happen to like the custom UIs. I know a lot of people love Sense. However, I feel bad for those that truly wanted the pure Google experience but just couldn't wait and may be kicking themselves when customizing future updates takes months longer (or never).

Sorry... I was actually being productive offline :)

the razor is a pretty rough phone imo. if it wasnt as thin as it was i would say there is no appeal whatsoever to it. deserves all the hate it gets

rezound is nice, i havent seen anyone on here bash it other than the name. htc makes good devices. problem is usually battery life (which can be helped with a good rom) and sense lagging the phone (which can be fixed with a good rom).

I appreciate the link, but it really doesn't tell us anything we don't already know. It says:

"We’re not sure why Google took the 32gb version off their website. Perhaps there was some kind of issue in field testing."

which implies that even though there were 32GB versions in testing, VZW may be declining to release them to customers.

It's weird I know. I don't understand how the 32gb would have issues and not the 16gb. I'm just trying to keep some hope alive. :)

Yes. It means that GNex can't expose its own filesystem to a PC or Mac, but the GNex can access the filesystem on a USB flash drive that you plug into it. It is confusing!

EDIT: As TheRoosevelt described, the above isn't quite correct. Windows by default can connect to GNex's filesystem via an alternate "MTP" method, but Mac and/or Linux may require installation of a special driver or program to do the same.

Yeah, this is stating that the Gnex uses a different protocol for computers accessing files on the Nexus, not the Nexus accessing files on a USB drive. The Gnex can still do USB hosting and all that. Really all the lack of USB mass storage means is that if you're on a Mac (or linux? idk), you need a special program to connect to your Gnex via USB. Windows users are unaffected, and USB hosting is not related at all.

Hmmm... okay... thanks for clarifying. That is good news :)

The battery life is awesome on the Rezound especially for a 4G device. HTC does make decent devices, but the Razr has a lot of appeal.
