Perhaps, the 4G outage was because of the LTE radio in the Nexus. Now, they have to fix the problem since they had more then a couple testing and the problem came to light.

Most likely has something to do with google wallet since people brought them blocking it to light.

BTW part of the point of my poll is that I think everyone should be going to the corporate stores and trying to get their hands on the phone to help ensure VZW realizes JUST how desired the phone is by their customers.

They dont have to compete to steal sales from eachother. Its not in a companies best interest to launch two flagship like devices on the same day. Verizon stands better to push the DROID brand then to push a separate device entirely.

Also is it any wonder why the iPad and iPhone are on two different release schedules? They know not to launch two high profile, high expense devices on the same day

But the ipad and iphone sell like crazy and most buy both where as most with android do not buy both or if they do they buy a wifi tablet. I don't think just because it is a droid means anything since its a tablet.

Cousin is the GM at best buy mobile.. he says they should be available for sale on Monday.. his theory is the delay was caused by the 4g issues.

Yep, and when I was playing with the Nexus and the reps manager tried to enforce company line on using word "block" when referring to the Wallet stuff I figured that as a good sign it is probably part of the holdup somehow?

But corporate DID give the go ahead for employees to tell customers the 9th. At that point, a press release doesn't change the fact that the 9th was made publically known to be the release date by Verizon. So when they pulled it back (with letters to managers announcing a DELAY), they delayed the launch, officially.

According to the leaked memo, they told them no such thing. They were told not to discuss display demoes I'm. I'm not surprised " appointments" are getting cancelled. I'd like to see a copy of these supposed delay notices.

Wonder why the 9th and 12th were both rumored dates and they delayed them both? Thats why... also all that BS about the outage delaying the launch, is just that... BS the Xyboard is 4G as well.

Congratulations to Verizon for passing that 'crap' off on customers as actual good merchandise. That Xyboard is going to be the Eris of the tablet world.

If Tmobile or AT&T offered to buy out my ETF I would switch in a heartbeat. Verizon does NOT care about its customers, they care about what 'crap' they can pass off under its 'DROID' branding line and make money from the 'Branding' Fanboys. The DROID line started as a edgy limit pushing brand.. (OG Droid, DX, RAZR) and has gone back down to the depths of old tech and trickery (D2, D2, DX2, Charge, BIONIC, Xyboard). Screw you Verizon and your attitude towards customers who actually have half a brain and dont buy the 'crap' you pass off. Your network is your saving grace you ******'s.

Asus machines are awesome. And, I am a toshiba guy too. Just replaced my wifes old vista toshiba with an Asus. It is very nice.

Nice...... I see you did not get a super 7200 RPM huge HDD. Could it be you plan on upgrading later?
Not that its necessary........... just sayin below.......

I got advice years ago from the notebookreview forums that it was best practice to low ball on a HDD at order time and then newegg a monster HDD later for cost savings.

Actually supposedly once a date is on the equipment guide they are allowed to talk about it so as soon as the one was sent with 12/9 employees were able to talk about it. When they changed to coming soon, that is why they can no longer talk about it.
