I used to be anti -white phone...but after having to settle for a white ipad2 (bought when stock was limited...not my color preference at the time) I think a white nexie would be pretty cool!

If changing the color of a phone makes you all giddy maybe you may want to consider a fruit phone? No offense man just messing with you. But they are both great phones I just personally don't like the lack of removable battery and Moto Skin.

I doubt that January is true, but, again, anything is possible. I will say this, though, if it does launch in January I will have to pass. As much as I love and want this phone in January there will be many new phones being announced to lock into a 2 year contract on a phone that was announced last year.

I agree. If Verizon lets phones sit in retailer storage rooms for a full month then retailers are going to be like wtf!

I know a lot of people think white phones are "girly" or whatever. If they offered a white and black Nexus on launch I'd take the white one all day. I think the white SGSII is sexy as hell!

You can get a white case for your Nexus. I personally don't like them, but, they "work" for some people.

OT Sci Fi

And slighty phone related - the characters in Andromeda wore this little communicator thing - earpiece with boom mic, tiny antenna.

They were Plantronics headsets with the cable cut down to about and an inch and then curled to play the antenna.

Great headset, I had one - and yes, I am that bored, waiting to hear what Ms. Han will be saying...

Oh God I hate that. I keep seeing these random messages and I'm like who is this? It's someone responding to an mms my wife blasted out to 30 people lol

I got TWO random numbers texting me responding to something like this today - first time it's ever happened to my # before.

But here's the catch - I am the only user of my phone. And i do not send nor receive group text/mms messages. I havent received a picture in weeks.

And yet I still had 2 people "replying" to me today.

I think maybe VZW's wires got crossed or something, it freaked me the hell out because i got both messages at the same time, too

Nah, what that is, and what everyone is complaining about (I've gotten these too, so annoying!), is that Apple formats MMS messages like group chats. Think of those chat rooms on AOL back in the day. One person sends a message, picture, etc, and "mass-texts" them to everyone. People with the iPhone who reply see it as a group conversation, but in reality it's like a "reply-all", and it sends it to everyone who was sent the first message.

Us Android people (and everyone else who has a mobile phone that ISN'T an iPhone) just sees message after message of people we don't know with messages that start off as "Re:Re:Re:Re:" or something.

Just another reason to hate Apple: they are insistent on breaking traditional SMS and MMS standards to suit their own desires

I've really been pretty off of sci-fi from like middle school (when I watched DSN reruns every night) until about a year ago when I watched firefly, BSG, re-watched all of TNG and read Dune.

Went out to buy ingredients for cookie baking tonight, and stopped into two Verizon places. One store, and one at BJ's. The first place, the store, the guys kind of looked at me when I asked and then he got all shifty and was like... we don't have those in stock... I don't know when they will be out. Like he couldn't even look it me. It was funny.

At BJ's, the guys were really nice. They talked to me for a few minutes about the phone - they didn't know when it came out, but they heard the same rumors that we all have heard. They took out the demo (which came in an ice cream sandwich shaped box) and let me hold it. It wasn't on though . But it was still really pretty and light, and I really really really want one.
