Help Bricked!

Hey guys. Got my new baby Thursday and it's been perfect...until 30 minutes ago. I went to pick it up and it was totally dead. No lights, nothing. So I plugged in the charger and still no signs of life. Any ideas (other than returning it tomorrow)?

Pull the battery out and leave it out for a few minutes. Then pop the battery back in and see if it comes on. If not, plug it in with the cable and charger that came with it for about 10 minutes and try to power it on again. If you still aren't getting anything take it back.

Are you on an LTE model? These type of occasional crashes have been quite common on the GSM model and I would suspect they are due to bugs in ICS (so I guess it would make sense that the LTE model will suffer from similar symptoms). I've been getting a crash requiring a battery pull once every 4-5 days or so..

Yeah.. the fact that the battery pull cured it (probably temporarily) hints to us that there are conflicts which can build up in the OS, and/or with apps/widgets not playing nice with one another or the OS itself.

I've remedied that permanently in two different Android devices by taking the time to remove all 3rd party apps/widgets I'd installed, every one of them, turning off all auto-syncing apps (Gmail, weather, etc) and rebooting the device.

Then, installing everything one at a time and using the device for half a day or more trying to make the crash happen. Twice I discovered that the syncing itself was the issue, so I've been in the habit of just syncing weather, Facebook, Gmail etc manually with no auto-syncing at all.

Your mileage may vary, but I've never had freeze/crash or slowdown (resource drain/lag) issues since getting into that habit.
