so my brother offered me his upgrade to get the galaxy nexus, but before i actually buy it, will there be another ICS phone getting release soon? w i love my TB but i want a nexus and actual ICS so bad, but if another ICS phone is set for release soon, i want to wait and see what it is before i decide on the nexus

(posted this in the wrong forum, sorry mods D: )

I tried the Nexus as well as the Razr when that came out. For me neither phone cut it. I just couldnt adjust to the Razrs form factor and the hotspot didnt work properly which is a big issue to me. And for the Nexus and ICS I would give it a little more time until some updates come out that fix the poor signal. I get very strong 4G coverage on my Thunderbolt and was barely getting any on the Nexus. Im not knocking either phone by any means. But as far as thr Nexus I would give it a little more time to work out some of the kinks. I do plan on giving the Nexus another shot in a couple months. Guess well see if things improve

For me personally, I'm probably going to hang onto my Thunderbolt until they come out with a single chip solution that combines the 3G and 4G radios (which should make the 4G antenna much more power efficient). Since I'm already rooted and use custom roms, there isn't anything I'm really waiting for (I'm fairly certain that ICS will come to this phone in form of CM9) that I'll get with another phone.

So with that, the most important factors to me for my next phone are the form factor, I'm talking something with overall dimensions of 4.75x2.5" or ~HTC Incredible 2 size, and battery life.

This is just anecdotal, but could influence your decision. ;) Two times now I've seen people go to the store to get a Gnex, both T-Bolt owners, and have seen both come back saying things like "not as good as I expected.. my Thunderbolt is fine," etc.

The RAZR, however, did get one convert from a T-Bolt owner, but she had been having issues with hers and was on her 3rd T-Bolt.

I admit to being surprised by the rejection of the new Galaxy Nexus by those Thunderbolt owners.

keep the thunderbolt. New phones are going to be better and they will have ics, which means all the new camera software and stuff. the hardware on the galaxy nexus imo is just barely ahead of the thunderbolts. i tried a nexus at the verizon store and it was laggy, and ics was somewhat confusing. wait out, it will be worth it.

To be honest, I have looked at all the recent phones as well as the GNex and I am not impressed. I have never had an issue with my Tbolt but these new phones really bring nothing new to the table. I know ICS but if I want it that bad I will just flash a rom onto my tbolt.

Really not seeing what all the fuss is....
This is my take as well. Thunderbolt is in its stride while everyone else is beta testing the GNex for Google.

I'll agree with most everyone here. If your TB isn't giving you issues then your upgrade to the Nexus will be the screen and upgrading to ICS. If you have any signal issues with 4G (or even 3G), you're not upgrading and you may be downgrading. If you want to actually upgrade, I'd say get the Rezound. Getting 4G speeds in areas that my Thunderbolt struggled to get even 3G signal seems like the greatest upgrade, with the nice 720p screen being a close 2nd.
