Help Forget the "number of bars" - what about call quality?

I've owned both the Razr, and now the Galaxy Nexus...I have to say both exhibit excellent call quality.

But IMO the Nexus is the winner when it comes to which one is louder. I have zero complaints on this subject.

Loudness isn't really.my.concern. It's more.quality.of calls in remote.or.fringe locations. But.thanks.anyway.

I can't say personally between Motorola and the GNex, but I DO know that I get the same reception as my Thunderbolt did, my Fascinate, and an iPhone, when it comes to connecting calls, not dropping, not breaking up. My house is right on the fringe of service, and I've taken devices home to play with over the years, not counting my own personal ones. I'll check my gf's Droid 3 in the next couple days at the house, and see how hers compares. Hadn't really put much thought into hers, since she can text from the driveway, and I have an extender in the house for when we get in the door. I'll check calls the next time she's up tho.

in my house i've used a Dinc, DroidX, ReZound, and now the G Nex....obviously the G Nex according to the signal measurement gets horrible results compared to the others..however my G Nex has great call quality. I would say equally as good if not better than some of the above devices...in fact i used to get dropped calls from time to time here at my home with my DX ...i haven't had one dropped call with my G Nex here at home. My home is on a fringe area.

I get good solid call quality, I think its very close to my Incredible which I thought was very good.

I've had an Inc, Eris, Bionic. The GN is "almost moto clarity" as for call quality imo. That means it's really good, I dig it

I'm getting results when driving, similar to 10 years ago, when it didn't drop calls, it just dropped bits and pieces 1 second hesitations.

I drive a regular stretch of road on I70 and it didn't drop the call, but I couldn't hear the other caller several times.

I work in the woods, up in the mountains, but I've learned which areas work, and which don't.

Also had same issue walking the dog around a local park. My 4 year old berry was rock solid, the GN, not so much.

Hope 4.0.3 does some repairs to it.

Call quality is more clear than my D1 or D2, which were both very good.

Handset and aftermarket speakerphone via Bluetooth call quality has been crystal clear. Built-in speakerphone call quality is a little rough for me.

"Almost moto quality"? Does everyone agee that moto quality is better in general?
