Help Running Multiple application

Recently upgraded from Nokia N900 to Galaxy note still can figure out the way to run multiple apps while keeping the existing one open. Eg while plating music wanted to text had to close the music app to send text. Any tweaks for this.

If I am understanding you correctly, you are in you music app and want to send a text. If this is the case, you should be able to hit the home button, not back, and choose you messaging app. Your music app should continue to run in the background. To switch back to you music app you can long press on the home button which will bring up the last few apps you have used and click on the icon for the music app. Also, most music apps will put an icon in the notification bar, so you could pull that down and click on your music app to get back to it.

I hope I helped.:)

I also migrated from the n900 to the Note and I must admit to missing some features. True multitasking is the major advantage of the n900 which came with the downside of lag. Android does things differently. When you put applications into the background they tend to go to sleep or be killed off (very annoying tbh). But on the plus side very little or no lag. I am currently living the "can't have everything" life. Must say that I am adapting quite quickly.

On a note: I use the standard music player (and also others from the market) and I can put them into the background (with the hardware key) and use other apps (including games).

Eric.

Thanks for the info it helped wish tabed multitasking was available in android its much easier, another thing i noticed is when i inset any other headset other than that came with the device or even connect the device to the Aux the left speakers seems to be louder than left and it is quiet evident is this a something built in.

Tabbed multi? You mean if you hold home it shows 6 current running apps? O also haven't had anything quit when switching.

Well besides GTA 3 but thats understandable as I tab'd out and started to do other things.

Actually it shows the last six used applications. There is no guarantee that they are still running.

I do hope that ICS will deliver some more tablet specific features including a running apps task switcher.

Regards,
Eric.
