Root CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

Has anyone else been getting a "System.Force Close" error when they download an app from the market? as soon as the app finishes installing it gives me a force close error....but everything seem to download and install fine, so im not sure why it shows the error.

I have been getting those. I thought that they were because I had a slower sd card. they mostly only happen during app updates, but do occur at other times.

I synced with the repo a couple of days ago and did another build

and it just seems slower to me for some reason

it seems like I take my chances every time I sync, maybe some stuff gets fixed, maybe some stuff gets broke

I wonder can you use A2SD with CM7? That should transfer things automatically to the SD card if installed properly. I've used it before but not on CM7. If S2E can do this then I'll use it. Otherwise A2SD seems like my best bet.

Can anyone confirm this?

Still trying to resolve the issue with my sisters phone. I guess no one has anymore ideas. I could revert it and try internal with A2SD or S2E but would need a response before I spend the time doing it.

I've been getting these as well. It seems to happen only on updates or when I'm installing something from the market. It happened as well once when I manually installed an APK. Not sure if the SD card. I haven't had this issue on other APP2SD enabled mods like CTMOD (With KK2.0 or APP2SD installed) or HalfAssMod.

I was able to use DT's A2SD http://androidforums.com/galaxy-pre...d-prevail-updated-11-18-11-a.html#post3193776 on previous versions of CM7, but I had to manually set the partition to Ext.2 and mount all before running the install. It would not work with Ext. 4 partitions created with Clockwork Mod for me. I have not tried to use it with beta 5 becuase the built in has worked so smoothly , since a fresh install and reducing from 2gb to 1gb partition. I have a class 10 16gb.
The tutorial I used to manually partition my sd card : How to manually partition your SD card for Android Apps2SD | Android and Me
Hope that helps.

Looking over the log, it doesn't seem like the main CM7 build has this fixed anyhow. And I'm fine with this not being fixed for Google Listen. Everything else seems fine. In fact, stock and CTMod would occasionally stop playing while connected via Bluetooth. It hasn't stopped since running CM7. Thanks for checking!

I've run into a potential issue. Is there some way to stop the native android music player from turning on when my mother connects her bluetooth hearing aids to her phone? I can't find a setting.

The phone starts the music player every time it dials and connects bluetooth for a call. She hears music in her ears as well as the call and has to hang up.

I had trouble understanding what she was talking about until she showed me the player playing that she didn't start herself. It's a bizarre issue.

I just loaded the mod, this issue cropped up within an hour. MUIU and MXPlayer are also on phone if it matters.

Not sure if her hearing aids are different than standard bluetooth headsets, but this didn't happen prior top the mod.

Great mod though. Runs perfect on my phone (identical to Moms). I'll have to test my standard BT headset... ;-D

Use Autostarts... You can select Music and disable on bluetooth connection.

(one had extra http in link, other two used url rather than img tags...) :)

Looks pretty sweet.

That's tweaked beyond CM7 though, isn't it? How far beyond (and using what) to get it there?

These aren't mine: (quoted from rm50 above)

Is it possible to just flash cm7 beta 5 onto the phone with cmw5 only without flashing to ej06 with Odin? Asking because I don't think my usb to phone wire works anymore and I want beta 5 this morning. btw I am using cm7 3.5 now.

And what about hot fixes...I have hf2 rite now; are there more advanced ones and if so, where are they? thanx.

I think that they were trying to fix some issues with the modem . They didn't lol . Anyways , the FA19 image has been updated to , not just the modem .

I went in , using Odin , and installed the FA19 image with the EJ06 phone.tar . Everything is running great . That FA19 modem just does not work for me . I've tried and tried and I get the same results . Hardly no 3g and a fluctuating radio signal .

By the way , I'm running CTMod 3.2 with KK 2.0 right now if that helps ya any . ;)

Thanks for the props I appreciate it . :D

As for the MIUICamera.apk , you should be able to flash the zip below using CWM . Just copy it to your sdcard , reboot in to recovery mode and scroll down to" install zip from sd card " , select it . Then select" choose zip from sd card " . After you've done that , select the zip that you want to install . When it is complete , reboot your phone and it should be installed . If that doesn't work , let me know and I'll see what I can do .

miuicamera_via_cwm.zip

Thank go out to Xruptor for making the zip and finding the working version .

@Hroark,

I personally don't own an Admire, but my girlfriend does and I noticed alot of similiarities in the 2 and was wandering if there was anyway you could possibly help them out over there porting CM7 to the Admire.. here is some of the discussion we had over there referring to it and Shabby seems to think that this is a good possibilty for the Admire providing a little assistance....

I am sure you will get a few beers...ahem! I meant coffees for this one! :p

Thanks in advance, and I understand if you are too busy.

@ironmask hey man actually hroark ported teh 2.3.6 rom from teh admire to the prevail, takes a bit of snaggling but works fine enough. the cm7 stuff is not all lost, just needs someoen to rise up and take it on, same thing i told teh precedent guys, dont beast yourself up trying to port it.. use teh prevail one and fix any bugs from there. seeing as you guys are using a modified version of teh prevail cwm i can assure you that cm7 would work (minus the kernel.. you need a cm7 kernel but teh rom itself should be bootable)

perhaps message hroark and see if he could whip up a quick cm7 with init.d support kernel for you guys?

Hi Ironmask

When I make or port ROMS for the Prevail. I usually end up flashing about 20 test copies with different changes before I release anything.

I don't like doing dev work on a phone, unless I actually have the phone, and can test it, and put my phone at risk first.

I have a hard enough time with some people, just installing stuff that I have tested and know works. Look at my Odin thread, there is no reason it should be that long.

It would be too frustrating for me to release stuff, not knowing that it works, and people can not get it working and end up bricking something.

The guys over on the Precedent forum were able to port my CM7 to their phone and I know it could be done for the Admire.

I would just like to add that a lot of my threads and post are meant to try to teach people how to do some of this stuff on their own.

I have made a thread on how to build CM7 from source.

I am trying to teach some of you how to fish instead of giving you fish.

Anyone with an Admire and a good Linux system should be able to read a few of my threads and build CM7 for the Admire, and I would be willing to help them, if they show that they are trying to learn
