Root [ROM] CM7 TG-Reloaded (Final: 03-25)

I'm having a problem going back to this rom.

I moved to Minimal Triumph (http://androidforums.com/triumph-al...rom-minimal-triumph-v1-0-7-update-3-22-a.html) because every version of TG Reloaded would stop waking up, and I'd have to pull the battery. I since saw advice not to use Titanium Backup to restore apps with a fresh install.

So I tried going back to the 3-25 version and using the 8-28 new talk version of gapps. I double checked the md5 sums. Now when I do a wipe data, wipe Dalvik cache, format /system, I flash the rom and gapps in order as I've always done. When I reboot the phone, it goes straight to the home screen, no market, nothing from gapps. It doesn't go to the initial setup screen.

Any advice? Particularly, anything new to try in CWR? It's version 5.0.2.6 if that helps/is important.

Thanks.

I think you only flashed gtalk and not gapps as well. The full gapps is not included with the gtalk stuff. You need to flash both.

I really appreciate the dedicated work on this project.

A lot of my photos don't have what I want focused in the center.
I'd like to ask if it was intentional in removing the 'Touch to Focus' feature in the camera or if this is some problem with my install.
I've updated every build the standard way from beyond TG-final to the current 3-25 build.

Idk but there is a cm7 ROM out with partially working hdmi... I think... It is like a 3/20 something build. Idk
What you're talking about is the stock gingerbread rom from MobsterGunz and Ziggy, there's two versions of it, both have data not working but one has HDMI working but not wifi and the other is vice-versa.

Is this the final update for this rom? Like no more updates of 2.3.7 are coming out? Another words you are moving onto Ice Cream Sandwhich I hope???

Well jeez, I wonder! There's no hints other than "FINAL" in the title. Haha just yanking your tail buddy, but it's the last build from Whyzor, g60madman is taking over CM7 for the Triumph.

Half the time this ROM is quite responsive and quick, but sometimes i find that it becomes really sluggish and laggy. I have a feeling that it's some problem that i created, but I'm not quite sure what i could have done? Could it be a certain app causing the problem? This problem occurs frequently, and not just in one app either, so i don't think it's that. Practically all I've done since flashing the ROM is install all my apps with Titanium Backup. Could that be a problem as a user above suggested? Any advice?

Titanium backup restore could very well be the problem causing the lag. You should always restore the app using the play store if you can. That way if TB someone did something to the app backup it doesn't matter.

Before you flashed it did you do a data wipe in CWM Recovery? If you already did then it may be a hardware problem with the proximity sensor and your keys.

I would do what marc recommends, If that doesn't help, you can install an app like watchdog (not 3g watchdog, just watchdog) and see if it points out any misbehaving apps.

when flashing a rom do not use titanium backup to restore apps. when i used to use titanium back up it seemed like i encountered problem quiet often.but when i reflashed and didn't use titanium back it was good. now when i flash a new rom and restore my apps and data i use mybackup pro and don't run into any problems. so it could be just me or not. but try mybackup and see if that works out better

I would recommend not restoring data in any way if you are having issues. Restoring data from one OS version to another can cause issues no matter how you do it. It won't always happen, but it can.

Yes I did wipe everything before flashing. I think I have the problem fixed now though. I did a factory reset and installed all the apps through the play store and it seems to be working good. I am going to make a nandroid backup and then try restoring data to a few applications and see what happens.

So i restored the data to a couple games just so I could get my levels back, and it didn't seem to make to much of a difference, but i did notice some sluggishness. Ever since, I've been messing around, and I've come up with two helpful things. One is autokiller set to aggressive (keep a lot more free memory) and the other is use the interactive governor. I had it set to use smartassv2 and i experimented with minmax, and because I've used those in other roms successfully, i didn't suspect them, but when i switched to interactive (the default) i noticed a large improvement in responsiveness. Other governors may work just fine as well, but i know interactive works well for a fact.

You will hear from many others, I'm sure, about not using an autokiller. They have a tendency to over do the job. If you think that the free memory is your issue you can adjust the "/etc/initd.d/99memory"file. If you don't what it means, just let us know. Someone here can help you.
