Ive had my epic 4g rooted and romed for awhile now. But all the sudden im starting to get some issues with my home buttons at the bottom. Randomly, mainly when texting, i get the task manager and app shortcut menu popping up. Following that my bottom buttons are inresponsive until i choose something from the app shortcut or turn the screen off. At time when i turn the screen off it takes a screencapture. I notcied at times when im texting also using samsung keyboard with predictive text the predictive word doesnt pop up like a glitch and i cant really type. So i close and re open and its fine.

Im now rooted on the stock rom and all seems ok but everytime i use rom like blazer or cm9 and others the problem comes back. Ive reset the phone pulled the battery and turned haptic feedback off and nothing. Very odd its only when rom'ed. Ive scheduled a warranty exchange through samsung but i dont think it will change anything. Btw this is when the phone is off the charger. Ive seen the issues with the charger cable. Ant suggestions? Would a new kernal change anything when rom'ed? And what exactly does a kernel do for you? Thanks

what kind of signal do you have when this happens? this is a known bug to this phone and is affect by signal and modem. i am guessing when you go back to stock you are using odin and flashing a stock tar hence you are putting your modem back to el29. and i am also guessing when you flash cm or blazer you also flash a modem as well. roms and kernels need to stay on the same base, meaning gb rom needs a gb kernel and an ics rom needs an ics kernel but you absolutely flash any modem from any build onto any rom/kernel setup, meaning if you are flashing cm(i am assuming cm9) and you have had no issues with the el29 modem while on stock try using it on your cm setup.
