Yeah so i bought a pristine Droid incredible the other day for like 20 bucks and I was wondering if I could take it to a boost mobile store and have them flash it to VM. Anyone have any experience with that and is it even possible since VM doesn't have a physical store?

Here i seen this website where they can flash a droid incredible along with a couple of other verizon phones along with sprint phones that can be flashed to boostmobile. i did this one time but with a website call sprint2boost something like that. and i was able to get them to flash my touch pro 2 to boostmobile mind u this was about 4 years ago but it was done with everything working but i don't know about this website try at you own risk.

Yeah guys, just wanted to point-out and remind everyone that its pretty-much only carriers that are legally allowed to flash phones from one to another (the laws here in the states are apparently structured this way).

Some carriers will allow you to switch a phone, but you really have to have the target carrier's permission to have your phone become part of their network.

If you don't have their permission, then you shouldn't do it and it certainly shouldn't be discussed here at AF.

Thanks!

thanks for the heads up. I dont think anyone here is talking about that though. At least I hope not :) I was just merely asking if it was possible and I have been promptly informed that it is not.

Edit: sorry I just noticed that post about the website that supposedly flashes phones. My bad.

Nah, you're good, dg61981 :).

We just want to try to keep things from escalating where folks start to point others toward flashing sites, etc.

I did see and follow the link to the site that was posted above--I don't know if that's legal or not, he does post the following:

DISCLAIMER:

This service is only offered for those customers who own both phones and whom PAY FOR THEIR MOBILE SERVICE. I do not offer this service for any persons who wishes to defraud any person or company or who wishes to steal wireless service for any reason. This is why you must have both phones in hand and have an exisiting active account and provide the account phone number and PIN number. I am not responsible for any persons who fraudulently use this service for any of the forementioned reasons and I am in no way involved in any illegal procedures that would constitute fraud. The law states that cloning for the purpose of stealing service or defrauding a peron or company is illegal. A very recent new law regarding jail breaking and flashing states that you are now able to use any mobile phone you own with any company they want and therefore makes this process legal to do if used in the correct way

which is good / nice (and hopefully accurate), but we've seen the same kind of stuff on other sites that are clearly skirting or outright breaking the law.

We'd rather you check with your carriers and see if they'll let you...if so, great, if not...then be careful.

So, we try to play it safe and make sure that there's a big "caveat emptor" (let the buyer beware) heads-up given to our members so that they (and we) are protected as best we can.

Cheers and thanks!
