*Rezound ICS OTA is live Thread*

Looks to me like someone trying to start another rumor.
If this is to be believed, the soak test for the Rez started on Monday.
Any soak testers want to 'fess up??

Well don't look to the HTC elevate people. We get asked to do more seriously important stuff like post favorite pictures of our dog and tell the staff what is our favorite color and why. If we asked about a soak test they would probably initiate a survey on which detergent they should promote the phone with.

Don't let Verizon put the blame on HTC. When HTC says "here you go, it works," Verizon makes them go back to the drawing board with some changes. The delays are all about the bloatware and Verizon's design demands. If it were up to HTC, the Rezound would have been released with French Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich (no bloatware, just pure Sense and Android).

I would love it if the upgrade included Sense 4.0.

CNET Mobile - News

No sources, Scott? Way to go.

This just appears to be a regurgitation of the rumors floating around on the web based on a post from the Verizon employee. He's provided supporting screen shots since his original post, however, as far as I can tell there have been no soak tests nor have there been any actual reports of people receiving any sort of OTA from VZ. The guy who wrote this article is strictly basing the writing off of rumor. Nice work CNET.

I'm betting verizon is waiting until the new Incredible 4G comes out before they will give us an update. They don't want people buying the ICS Rezound when they can spend much more money on the newer phone with about the same specs.
I thought the Incredible 4G was going to have a qHD(960x540) screen and a dual core 1.2Ghz processor? If so, that is a big difference from the Rezound with it's 1280x720 screen and it's dual core 1.5Ghz processor.

While I agree the qHD screen is a step down from the Rezound, if the Inc 4G LTE processor is in fact a snapdragon 4, even at 1.2ghz it will be more powerful in both CPU & GPU than the snapdragon 3 in the Rezound. The s4 krait processor has a lot of benefits over the s3, SoC aka system on a chip which improves battery life, the chip is a 28nm which also helps battery life, if it's 1.2ghz that means it's underclocked (normally clocked at 1.5ghz) which also helps battery life, and finally the adreno 225 gpu. Factor in a smaller & lower resolution screen, and a battery with 100mAh larger battery than the Rezound and you maybe looking at over 1 to possibly 2 days of battery life with better CPU & gpu performance. Finally there is Sense 4.0, which is much lighter than Sense 3.5 that is currently on the Rezound, and noticably lighter than Sense 3.6 that will come with the ICS update. Plus it's got ICS out of the box. The Inc 4G LTE would make me regret buying the Rezound if it had the same screen, but I'm to used to a 4.3" screen to consider it. So now I'm waiting on a One X variant on Verizon, which will probably come this fall. But if the screen size doesn't bother you, this is a sweet little phone, and much like the Incredible's before it, may be the cult classic of the Verizon lineup.
