N7 8GB vs. 16GB?

Money's tight these days, but the lure of the N7 is great. I plan on selling off a few gadgets to fund the purchase. But I'd like your feedback on which version to get.

If you made the purchase, did you get the 8 or 16GB version? If you got the 8GB version, do you find your experiece constrained by the amount of memory in the device, or is it working just fine for you? If you picked up the 16GB version, how's the memory working out for you--is it overkill or not enough?

Any thoughts you can share would be most helpful!

Thanks!

I got the 16gb version. $50.00 for an extra 8gb is robbery but I went for it anyway. You can't add memory later so I'd get it now if you think you may need it. I won't be loading a bunch of DVD rips or huge files so I don't see myself wishing for any more memory in the near future. I probably would have been OK with 8gb. I'm absolutely amazed at what this tablet provides at this price point. I have zero regrets making the purchase.

I bought the 8GB because I mostly use the N7 for reading books and these don't take much space. My N7 currently has 5.5GB free.

I keep all my media on a server and only copy over stuff when I need it. I think the only reason to worry about the space is if you want to use the N7 for watching films when away from home. Even then you'd get three films on it at 720p and a reasonable bit rate.

This is pretty much me. I found out Nandroid backups take up way too much room, but I can offload them to my PC to save space.
I rarely store any media on my devices and stream pretty much everything (Rhapsody for music, Netflix for movies). Also, I already have a couple tablets so I didn't want to splurge for another $50, but I would recommend it to anyone else.

I bought they 8gb version because that's the deal. I was undecided but damn, $200 makes this quite the deal, $250, not so much. I suppose had there only been the 16gb model, it would still be ok at $250 but a tf300 is not that much more and you get some added features.

I've got quite a few games now, since I received a $25 gift and I still have more than 4gb left. Putting music on this I could easily fill it but why would I? My phone sounds better and is far more portable. Also since the camera is rather crappy, I don't see my self filling it up with grainy pics.

Of course, more is always better but I don't regret getting the 8gb version at all....yet

it's hard to justify $50 for 8gb of NAND but what choice did we have with no sdcard slot.
i have my music in the cloud (took forever to upload with my 768kbps up) and am rooted with stickmount.

keep in mind, one HD movie will consume typically 3-8gb of space depending on length and how you encode.
the OS and included apps use up 2-3gb off the bat.

What do you mean no Hulu? I am watching Hulu+ right now on my N7.

You're right. I should have been more specific. No free Hulu because Flash is not supported on Jelly Bean. I know there are some workarounds out there but I haven't gotten around to trying them. I may end up dropping Netflix and going with Hulu+. Can't afford to have both right now.

I have the 16GB mainly because I like a few films to choose from when travelling. I don't have as much time as I did a while back so have stopped rooting and mucking about with my devices so it rules out some other mass storage options for me.

My advice is go with what you need. If you need 16GB then save for a few more weeks rather than feeling remorse if the 8GB is not enough for you.

I bought the 8gb version because the 16gb was backordered at the time and I'm not the patient type.. Have been able to deal with the limited space, though. I definitely wouldn't say I've wasted $200, as when I get my 16gb, I'll be passing this 8gb (already rooted and extremely pimped out) down to my brother as payment for a lot of work he's done for the family.. My son is also looking to sell his GTab 2 7.0 to pick up an 8gb n7..
