Hi all, just wondering whether there is a way to preview wallpapers before setting them?

E.g., when you do a long press on the homescreen, there is the option of adding a Wallpaper, if you click on Wallpaper- you are taken to a gallery of stock wallpapers which you can hover over and preview before setting them as a wallpaper. (I'm not talking about live wallpapers)

I was just wondering whether we are able to add our own pictures to this gallery, so that we can preview them? Because that would make it so much easier to pick the best wallpaper out of a large selection of images. I can't seem to find the stock Wallpaper folder in any folder directory.

This seems like a pretty basic function, that is obviously useful, if there is no way to do this- I wonder why android has implemented this

Thanks!

Gallery is pretty awful for what you're looking for, so let me throw you into left field for previewing and applying wallpapers.

Wallbase

It's not what you're looking for, for adding your own pictures, but this little app is great for previewing, and applying a huge variety of backgrounds. It's been my go-to app for wallpapers for quite a while.

Not a solution to your question, but maybe an alternative choice?

thanks akashik, it looks like a great app! Whilst it doesn't allow you to add and preview your own pictures, like you say it is a great alternative choice. I like that it allows you to preview lots of different wallpapers and set them as wallpapers with just a single click (you also don't need to go through the hassle of cropping the pic which is nice) :)
