blackberry style android phone for straight talk?

I want to use the straight talk sim program, using AT&T service. After trying out a bunch of different phones, I truly prefer a blackberry style.... can you all recommend to me the best blackberry style android phone? I've looked at the htc status, samsung galaxy pro (y and m too), the motorola defy, samsung galaxy chat, droid pro, and motorola pro+. So far, the motorola pro+ looks the best to me.

I couldn't find a comprehensive list of devices that meet this form factor.... Anybody else have any recommendations?

I've had two people at work (both Blackberry addicts that just NEEDED a keyboard) ask a similar thing.

I loaned them my crappy little Samsung Galaxy Proclaim and took them on a 5 minute forced march through using SWYPE.

Needless to say, both now love using SWYPE instead of a physical keyboard.

Not saying you would convert too, but give it a serious effort at trying. It is very awesome in how fast you can spit out a message without errors.

I never thought I could deal with just an on screen keyboard myself, but like DarkJedi said, it can be done.
One other phone I'd consider (if you can move to Sprint) is the Motorola Photon Q. It looks like a great slide out qwerty style phone.

I have an iPod touch and have used its on screen keyboard for a while now. It doesn't compare to using the keyboard on my Nokia E71 (yeah I know, old school phone). I mostly use my phone for typing out messages, chatting, emails, etc. I have used swype and have mixed feelings. Some of my friends say they get use to it, others dislike it.

I am not going to any carrier. I am using Straight Talk. 45 dollars a month for unlimited talk, text, data.... they offer their own smart phones on Sprint, verizon (one phone), and AT&T(one phone). But they also have a "bring your own SIM program" in which you can pick either AT&T or T-Mobile SIM. So I need a GSM phone.

I've been searching for a long time for the a decent candybar style Android with high-end specs, and can't hardly find any. Especially not with AT&T...

The only problem I got with soft keyboards vs hardware keyboards is FINGERPRINTS!!

Nothing worse than looking at a smartphone or tablet LCD with fingerprints on it. People think I am nuts or have OCD with how often I clean the screen on them. Tried some voice control apps and voice type and it lessens them, but scrolling leaves nasty marks. Would love the ability to voice scroll.
