Google Maps Improvements

So I ask, now that Apple has ditched Google Maps from the new IOS6, what new improvements would you like to see in Google Maps and/or the Navigation app? Even that at this point Google services are much better than Apples in many ways and Apples service is years away I could suggest Google to add a speedometer, speed limits and offline navigation to the app if not available (not sure if it currently has it). So what are your thoughts needs something more something less its perfect as it is.

I really can't think of much else Google could do to improve the Maps/Nav other than work on refining it. Get rid of as many incorrect locations as possible, refine the user interface a little, and maybe like you said...add speed limit info and current/average speed for trip.

Well we the public & commercial owners have to help with the incorrect addresses.

How would you like to see the UI refined?

something I'd like to see from google maps would be something that bing did, and apple also have the "birds eye" or "fly over" its a much closer/ clearer view and from 4 angles.

Something else, being that google maps is also browser based, incorporate something similar to another one of bing maps features, the ability to measure distance. On bing you can either place to points and it will find the distance, or you can draw a path and it will add up the distance.. that is something I really believe that google is missing in their maps.

One last thing again from Bing.. when I right click a house an address comes up, though its not the right address all the time, I think google could improve on this by getting the addresses correct.

If they added these features it would be even better, and Google Maps would be my hands down favorite maps to go to.

You can enable this under Labs--it's called "Measure". It places an icon in the lower right that, once pressed, allows you to measure between two or more points by tapping the screen.

I think offline directions and routing would be useful. I've found myself in areas where I have the map data precached, but too weak of an internet signal to get the directions or navigation started.

I also want to add further enhancing the code behind the new double-tap-slide zoom gesture. It's not quite as smooth as pinching, but I think it's more useful for those like me who use their phone one-handed all of the time, and it would be nice if it worked throughout the OS.

I would like to see birds eye view as well.

I'd like to see a feature added that would allow you to see a number address at particular points along major streets, and perhaps even the minor ones.

Say you're zooming in on Wilshire Blvd., at Bundy Drive, in West Los Angeles, and you want a quick reference as to the address there.

Perhaps, if you zoom in close enough, it could show that Bundy Drive is at the 12100 block of Wilshire Blvd. That would be quite convenient, wouldn't you say?
