GSMArena X10 Review - A Well Details Review

A good review. Even though, the unit they reviewed is a "near final retail" unit, they said it is really fast, only time they noticed lag was in the gallery and it was minuscule.

I was a bit apprehensive about getting this phone because it runs Android 1.6 but it seems like the difference between 1.6 and 2.1 is not that much of a deal breaker.

Anyway, what do you guys think, still getting the phone?

Yep! Even though I can't get it in white! 2.0+ Android would have been helpful for Bluetooth file transfer and multi touch, but I've survived without them on this Hero!

I read the review on GSMArena and saw one review on youtube.

On the video review, that guy told that there is a slight problem with the keyboard. Sometimes it doesn't just register the first letter and starts from the second. While in 'Timescape', it takes some time to load updates.

Overall, I like this phone very much. But 1.6 makes me change my mind and when I compare this phone with HTC Desire and legend, Sense UI appeals me.

Is it me, or does the review insinuate that you can't upload to Youtube or view youtube videos in Mediascape via the handset?

Could've sworn you could upload a video directly from the Hero.

I'm pretty sure you can upload videos to YouTube directly from the X10. I know I've seen at least a few video hands-ons that showed this feature specifically.

As to viewing YouTube vids in Mediascape, no idea though your right that the GSMArena review seems to suggest it's not possible.

I agree. I was stuck on 1.5 on my Galaxy for ages and wasn't happy, but now that I have 1.6 on it I don't feel I'm missing out on anything important from 2.x.

Since it's 1.6 and they've said they'll update to 2.x someday, I'd be happy with that.

I just wish they'd release one with a qwerty keyboard that isn't a "mini" and I'd be sold!
