Root Root?!?!?!?!

That's one of the sites I found, again broken links when I go to download the tools. I've managed to unlock my bootloader with the HTCdev thing, also installed one of those clockwork recovery mods. I've been told I still need to actually root though and that's the problem. Grrrr I hate technology some times.

Edit: Would following instructions in post two work? Link

All of the info I've found has talked about using something called Supertool V3, but at almost all of the places, the link for Supertool V3 is broken. I have managed to find a link to it though... it is quoted in the last post here and the instructions on how to use the tool are in the first post in that thread.

Have a look at this and let me know if it works for you :)

I had the drivers and etc, still didn't work. Anyway the way I got root to work was by first unlocking the bootloader via the htc dev website, then downloading this recovery mod and placing it on the root of my SD card, loading into the bootloader and clicking fastboot will then replace the built in recovery mode with the Clockwork mod. Next I found the ROM / Kernel I wanted my phone to have and placed them on the SD card, along with GAPs of course. Next I loaded into recovery mode, clicked "wipe data / factory reset" then hit "Install zip from sdcard" and installed my ROM and kernel.
