Root fastboot commands for flashing the fix ..

The fix has been made into a bootloader flashable zip. What fastboot command do i type to flash this zip ? .. thanks ..

rename zip to PG86IMG.zip
put it on root of your sd card
boot into bootloader
bootloader should recognize it
press volume up to install
once your reboot, delete or rename the zip or bootloader will make you flash it again...

is "Up" the only thing i need to do to flash it after booting into bootloader ?

up is not the problem... after loading into bootloader its supposed to auto check for files named pg86img and then offer you to flash the file... to confirm, you press up... but it seems like its not even recognizing the file... dont really know what to tell you...

using ES File Explorer, it says PG86IMG.zip, Type: File, Path:/sdcard, Size:8.05 MB, Readable: Yes, Writable: Yes and Hidden: No.

That looks right.

try to rename it but forget the .zip part... just pg86img ... i dont use es file explorer but it might be one of those programs that hides the extensions....

I use it, it doesn't hide extensions.

Gave up my Evo 4G in June, but this is the first I've heard of an HTC bootloader without fastboot or reset options.

Hmmm.....

Let me check my Evo 3D...

no other options. i booted in through fastboot commands. now im just moving through Bootloader, Reboot, Reboot Bootloader and Power Down with "up"..

try booting manually... boot into bootloader by holding down the volume down button and hitting the power button... it has to be something you are doing wrong (no offense) cause everything seems right... so tell us exactly how you boot into bootloader and what happens as soon as you are in bootloader... also please rename the file back from pg86img to pg86img.zip

No problem, im very happy already that you guys r willing to help ! I held down volume down and power button for about 8 secs then phone booted into bootloader. it was checking something, it went by too fast i didn't have a chance to take note of what was being checked. Now its in bootloader its showing something different. now i have Fastboot, Recovery, Factory reset, simlock and Image Crc.

okay... this is a good sign... you were in fastboot before but you should have been in regular bootloader... when it was checking, did it locate the file??? if not... try both versions... pg86img.zip and just pg86img and see if it recognizes any... you will know when it does because it will ask if you want to update (flash)

if it does... do the volume up thing to confirm and you will be good to go..

i don't think it located it since i wasn't asked anything.. i will need to reboot now and connect to pc to create the second version... how do i reboot there isnt a Reboot option anymore ... i took the Recovery option and rebooted from there..

I made two versions of the zip file. One PG86IMG, one PG86IMG.zip. booted into bootloader and it was truly scanning for PG86IMG.zip i paid attention and saw. But neither files were detected....

hmm.... try getting it to scan a few more times as earlymon had suggested and if that doesn't work, its a file problem.. cause i can def say your doing everything right...

care to share the file??? id love to look through it...
