Root [GUIDE] Unbrick OR Unroot LG Motion 4G [KDZ]

ok i dont get why this isnt working. I installed drivers and all the way up to step14 it says extracting file error. I have everything up right but at that point i cant get it.

I had this problem too and I spent a few hours totally confused. It turns out you have to plug your phone into your computer while you are converting the cab file.

its already plugged in but and it asks me install drivers and update them and stuff but im not sure if its still connected or what not. like during all the steps
Is the phone in emergency mode the whole time? It has to be in that mode and when it is in that mode the computer shouldn't ask you to install anything.

I think this is correct. It sounds like its not in E-mode. When it is in emergency mode, your phone will have a black screen with one little box in the middle that says download mode. It would be wise to keep the phone in E-mode and plugged into your computer during all steps. When the firmware is done installing, your phone should reboot itself and look completely stock.

FYI-adb is a program usually under SDK tools that is very useful for many things. My point in bringing it up is that it is absolute proof your driver is installed correctly if it works...

okay i got that now. But the only problem im having is when its has to say "Done". but nothing happens besides a pop up window were my cab file is.

Sorry I can't help you much more. I really don't know much about this other than what the directions told me to do and even then it went way over my head.

Like I said before my biggest problem was not connecting my phone while in emergency mode (aka "download mode") during the cab conversion process. I could tell it was working better because without the phone plugged in during the conversion it was pretty quick but with it plugged in it took a little longer and my cursor changed to the "busy" cursor.

I got it a day or 2 days after it came out but i was the 1st to but it where i bought. Had it clocked @1.5GHz

Some, not all, were clocked at 1.2GHz. It was a very few of them that were clocked at 1.2 because I'm sure they were all originally supposed to be clocked at 1.2GHz, then someone accidentally changed the clock speed in a newer build version of firmware. I saw posts of people clocked at 1.2GHz.

New to androids. That says it all! :) But I acquired this Lg motion MS770 phone, and I like it!

After reading some bits here and there, I have the following questions:

1. Is this unroot/unbrick the same as a "factory reset" procedure?

2. will this/these procedure(s) void the warranty?

3. after this unroot procedure or "factory reset" (if it isn't the same) will require me to call Metro or go to them in order to get the phone working/"primed" or whatever it is called that these people do at the store?

TIA

Happy New Year to everybody! :)

1) it is not equivalent to a factory reset. Everything on the phone will stay on the phone except root.

2) a rooted phone is a phone where you broke the warranty. If the phone isn't rooted, the warranty is still good until expiration date.

3) your phone will work like always after the procedure. No reprogramming, no flashing PRLs. Just wait for it to boot and you have an unrooted phone. Any root apps you installed after rooting will still be there except superSU.
