I've been running 2.1 with live wallpapers, N1 drawer and root since it came out on SDX. I agree 100% with this statement.

It's definitely nice, but you'll be much more happy waiting to see if they fix some of the bugs it has before it goes out.

How is your battery doing? Mine seems to be acting a little weird, sometime it just loses a large % while the phone is idle. The leaked 2.1 release fixes so many 1.5 issues, but then adds some more issues, that it is a hard to determine which is better at this point. I'm loving the 2.1 since I never use streaming music apps, and other than the battery issue, It's been working good for me.

Yeah. I reported that, too, on SDX when they were up. I think they're getting too popular and they can't handle the bandwidth, but that's a good sign. More support means faster fixes.)

Same battery behavior. It's almost like they branched the code from CJ05 and didn't incorporate any battery fixes from CL14 into the 2.1 dev build. I never really know what my battery is doing anymore. Went from 80 to 15 then rebooted and it went to 70.

That has happened as well with me. Last night. I also notice having photobucket if I turn the phone off and then on it force closes with the start up of the phone. I like that the caller id photo is in the messenging now. I also like the suttle green and red when making and ending a call. I have noticed that the web browser is not asking to remember my passwords on all sites like it did before. I have verified the settings in the browser. I absolutely think the camera app is a lot better. Hoping to get the new gallery soon. I also love the voice search on the phone. It searches the phone as well. You can also direct dial from the home screen by adding a shortcut. Not just to the contact anymore. Trying to think of what else I have done. Battery life is like when it was new. I am constantly on it and it lasts a day with very heavy usage!!! Gonna try today and see what it does since I work today. That should help it last a while longer.

Your chat session meant nothing, a complete waste of time. The person you spoke to doesn't work directly for Sprint, doesn't live in a country that has Sprint service and up to his/her start of employment, probably never heard of Sprint before. All they do is parse to you whatever info is programed into their support system software.
I agree... The Gremlins told me the update will be available within "the next week".

I am curious who will come up with the most bad ass live wallpaper yet!
It will probably be a game of some sort. Though I can imagine the most popular live wallpaper being something that does live fb or RSS feeds.

Personally I would like to have an interactive music graphic like what WMP has always used (with clickable play/stop next buttons). Though that might severely bog down the phone.

The direct dial thing is great. I just downloaded helix launcher and added one screen (I have four now, but you can add more), now I have one full page of direct dial contacts. I also like that you can add apps or contacts (not widgets though) on the side of the drawer thing, and they get brought over to each screen.

The better option imo is rooted 1.5, awwsome battery, 99% bug free, reliable

But the Pandora issue seems more and more like a hardware problem to me, and every time someone tries to say what the culprit is, there's a diff answer. CPU, accelerometer, buffer size... gremlins? Who knows.

As for streaming applications like Pandora and TuneWiki you'll have to disable Multimedia gateway (new feature in 2.1 rom) .It works fine after that:

phone > Dialer > ##3282# > Multimedia > Enter "MSL" > You will see RTST Proxy, HTTPPD Proxy > modify every list > set Address with "0.0.0.0", port with '0'.
