Help After i press power buton and put it to sleep it stays in a black screen help!!

Well to start this my phone is pretty old I've had it for a while now I am rooted and running Megatron 6.0.4.. I've had this problem for a week now even thinking of leaving my Ultra for a new phone... Everytime I press the power button to put it to sleep I try to turn it back on but it stays stuck on a black screen I can still touch the phone and get into apps or answer phone calls but the screen is completely black I have to pull battery out and restart it... sometimes I turn it on but its still on black screen when it turns on and I have to pull the battery out AGAIN!! Have to take the battery out up to 15 times or more joust to take black screen away sometimes... I can't put my phone to sleep anymore I have to keep it on all day I need help right away don't know what to do...

One question, if the phone stays on "black screen", how are you able to access your apps?
Things like this (your issue) CAN be annoying... I recently went through a battery issue but at the time I thought I fryed my CPU... Still went without a good battery for about 2-3 weeks... Annoying!!!!

Is the screen black during boot up or if you go into recovery? If so that would probably be a hard-ware issue. I've had some problems with the ribbon cable on mine (I think). Opening and closing the phone a bunch of times seemed to fix it for now but if it does it again I'm taking it apart. My screen was green tinted, not black. As in everything white was light green, dark grey was dark green. It looked horrible!

@niteNarmor: My wife and I both have this phone and our batteries pretty much have gone crazy a little after a year. I just ordered 2 from Amazon so hopefully they work better. Hers shuts off or says its charged but its really only 70%. Mine gains charge while unplugged . Weird stuff.

I got my new batteries. Solved all the problems we were having. The old battery in my wife's phone looks pregnant.
