Root Running Slow...Suggestions?

I recently rooted my Eris (thanks for all the guides btw), but I've noticed that overall performance has been rather slow. Typing on the keyboard is rather unresponsive and scrolling on pages is very laggy.
I'm using GrdLock's 2.1 ROM and Helix Launcher.
Any tips? Thanks!

have you restarted your phone to see if this helps? removing some of the stock apps that comes in 2.1 has helped as well. which ones is really up to you as to which ones you dont need.

also, do you have a lot of apps installed? that could be the reason too. what is your internal memory at? i read i think anything below 50mb is bad.

I don't have too many apps and I have 93.62MB free
I'll try deleting some of the stock apps

ya, that is plenty of space. that is what im at. Here is a link on which apps you can remove safely. also, remember do a nand backup before removing any apps as a safety precaution.

ok so i was trying to remove the unwanted apps and when going to the root terminal I'm getting a "$" instead of a "#" Doesn't this mean I'm unrooted? But I'm running a 2.1ROM right now.

when in your tools dir in a cmd window, type in adb shell and then su

you should get a popup on your phone asking to allow. hit allow always. then you set

Also, I was wondering how exactly to use SetCPU. I have the application but I dont know if I'm running the profiles at the correct levels. Suggestion?

At present you cannot overclock the ROMS that are available for the eris.

If you get a chance try GrdLock's Vanilla ROM. I was using eris21official-root ROM. Changed to Vanilla ROM this afternoon and my phone is much faster.
