Help Note 2 won't connect to my pc/ but charges the phone

Hello, I've just purchased a Galaxy Note 2 few days back and I've been able to connect to my PC once using the original cable and I was able to transfer songs and stuff. However today I try again and the PC does not detect my phone, and when I pull down the notifications panel it doesn't have the "connected as media device" options, but it charge it though.

I have tried using Kies but that doesn't work either. I am using windows 7. The phone is running 4.1.2 and its with Rogers.

My Note 2 connects OK everytime ro the PC am using Win 7 also never had a problem try another USB port have downloaded AirDroid from google play store and I prefer that to Kies

Try a different USB port. Restart the PC, and make sure you are connect to the internet in case it has to go through installation of drivers before plugging the phone. Try a different USB port.

id rather install cancorious tummor in my brain
