I really don't see the point of the new phone. I spent too much money on this one to up and waste more on a new one so fast.

Maybe if I had money I would get it, but I don't at the moment. To me it's the same phone, with a better GPU. The quad core processor isn't really new, since the international variant of the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a quad core processor, but only 1 GB of RAM. While we had dual core, but 2 GB of RAM.

Also the international had a better GPU I think. But yeah I don't really see the big deal for this new phone, and we still don't know if Metro will get it (at least at launch).

It's cheap on contract though, at $199.

So yeah in my opinion this wasn't really that much of an upgrade. I'm guessing the S5 will be the best to get, since this felt like a slight speed boost with a better screen.

its not geared towards SGS3 owners. they are looking to snag people who are upgrading from the SGS2 (people who have contracts ending and need an upgrade). the octa core does have better specs, but the snapdragon600 is no slouch. bigger screen/battery, better cpu/gpu, newer version of android, all sorts of new features (hardware and software)... idk to me if it was coming out on metro you could prolly sell your sgs3 for 430+ and pay only 90 bucks or so to ride the upgrade wave...
