Edit: he has AT&T
From what I can tell your the only one having the echo issues. You have to remember though there is always one defect in the batch and not all electronics are created equal even if they are the same model number.
To the person having the echo issues...
Are you by chance speaking to a person on another mobile phone when this is happening or is it happening on land lines as well? When I'm speaking to one person on a Virgin Mobile phone I often hear myself echo either on speaker or not but never on land lines and never with one person on an iPhone. So it would seem like the only problem I see is caused by the other mobile phone not mine.
Two different land lines ATT for one, other was a work phone so I don't know what they use, I think it's VOIP of some type, iphone on verizon, SIII T mobile, Samsung Transform Ultra on Boost, last one was a customer service rep who admitted they could hear it while troubleshooting the issue.... It's this phone since the callers on the other end were the ones having the echo issue. All people I have spoken to before with no issues using a Samsung Transform ultra, except my own work phone and the customer rep.
Your friends virgin mobile phone has the echo issue. I am guessing, if their phone is not defective, that they have case covering the noise canceling mic (easiest way to hear what everyone heard while trying to talk to me on speakerphone) or an HTC with the same design. They could also have you on speakerphone as how your phone is set does not matter when you hear your own echo, the sound of your voice is reaching their mic before it reaches the noise-canceling feature...... Look up HTC echo and find like 4-5 different models with the same complaint as me. The thunderbolt had one person return 4 times before they suggested he get a different phone..... from the place where he bought it.
I'm honestly quite content with 3g due to the more efficient battery usage, but then again, I haven't had 4g before, so maybe it's like CRACK!
