Beware of t-mobile

I am attempting to warn all about T-Mobile. I have had an extremely bad experience with them. When I signed up, I was told they had excellent service in my area and there shouldn't be any problems. There has been nothing but problems since I signed up a year ago. I have contact customer support numerous times for assistance with these problems, but they never fix them. I am dropping calls constantly, my data is always on data roaming so the unlimited data I pay for is just an extra cost I am not able to use, and I cannot contact to Wi-Fi except on rare occasions. After over a year of this extremely poor service that they are unable to fix, I am fed up and have decided to cancel my service. I was not doing it for any reason other than they have failed to provide the service they promised, which is backed up by the numerous customer service calls. I assumed they would not charge the $200/line since it is their failure, but was notified that I will have to pay it. (I have 4 phones, so that will be $800 plus around $35/line for taxes). I will be paying close to $1000 just to cancel a service that never worked properly in the first place. I was informed they do not guarantee service, so I will have to eat the charges or keep the non-working phones. I am extremely frustrated with them and hope this will save others from making the same mistake. STAY AWAY FROM T-MOBILE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF.

As Rx said, a phone not connecting to wifi seems to indicate either the phone of the router itself. But dropped calls and no data can be either their service or the device itself. T-Mobile isn't responsible for the device, that responsibility belongs to the manufacturer. T-Mobile isn't perfect, but I haven't had much to complain about since I switched over from Verizon. I hope you find some service that brings much greater happiness.

I'm sorry you have had a terrible experience with t-mobile in your area. But, if you are trying to warn people off t-mobile, you should tell us what city you live in and perhaps what side of that city. All networks are not all the same at all locations.

You may well indeed be getting ripped off by t-mobile who is not providing you adequate service or support. But t-mobile is fine for me in San Jose, CA. As a matter of fact, what you said of t-mobile in your area is exactly what I said about AT&T in my area three years ago when I left them.

(I agree with the statements above about wifi.)

All phones have had difficulty connecting with various errors given. Also tried in multiple places which didn't help either.
Let me ask you a couple questions.

First do you have home internet? Does your internet include a Wireless Router, using either b,g, or N?
Is your home service High speed (meaning at least but can be more then) 1mbps down and at least 750kbps up?
If the answer to those ^ is yes does your wifi connection use encryption (for security so no one that does not have the password can connect) and do you have said password?
When you say You tried in multiple places and that didnt help either do you mean places like mcdonalds that advertises free wifi?

Those places you can connect to there network but you are required to open your browser (which gets redirected to a terms and conditions page) where you are then required to agree to said terms before it will allow any internet access.

Which phones do you have perhaps they are not smart phones?

Now as to service where do you live as some places just do not have coverage. You can check your zip at Coverage Maps | Sensorly That is a site that users like you and I contribute to to help others know where and what type of service to expect from a carrier.

Now if you dont find any service for your location that may not mean there is no service it just means no one from your area has contributed.

What you should have done is what I did. Buy a SIM card from T-Mobile and test their service with your own phone from home. If no good you are only out $50. I had to do this because years ago when I had T-Mobile, I could only make and receive calls outside my home. Now all is good and I ported my regular number.

It's going to be like that anywhere you go. A small number of people will be completely dissatisfied with <insert random carrier name here> , and a good portion of them will be completely happy. ;)

I'm more than satisfied with T-Mobile, and have had nothing but good service from them. I generally stay away from phone support with any company if at all possible. Face to face customer service tends to be a bit more personal and they're less likely to be dismissive and rude. T-Mobile is no exception.
