Resetting file choose for ringtones etc

Hi Folks,

I've recently changed a ringtone and when prompted to use either the system ringtone or ES file browser I've picked system (by mistake as always perform this action) and set it as the default method so now I can't browse files to pick music ringtones/sounds etc.

How do I go about re-setting this please ??

Apologies if this has already been answered I did have a search around but wasn't sure how to word my search :/

thanks but just tried that and it doesn't work, I still don't get an option to browse my SD card . . . . .

Because you don't want ringtones on an SD card. If you are connected to a computer via USB, the card is not readable by the system and the ringtone will default to the default ringtone and not the selected sound.

Wrong app. He set Android System as the default, not ES File Explorer.

Settings > Apps > Downloaded > Android System
Clear defaults

Hi, I'm not connected to PC and they're not ringtones as such, I'm meaning setting an mp3 as a ringtone fopr calls and browsing the sd card to choose a sound file for texts etc. Up until making ticking 'choose this option every time' or words to that effect I was prompted to choose between the system tones, and my sd card, I can't for the life of me work out how to undo it! : /

Hi, I'm not connected to PC and they're not ringtones as such,

gtbarry was warning you that setting ringtones from the SD card means that if you do happen to connect to PC, your ringtones will fail during that time. Of course you could USB dual mount. Most people know of it in a paid app (which one I don't remember), but this free app does it too:

Anyway, see my post that I posted at the same time as yours, as a result of which you may have missed it. One thing I forgot to mention is you could add another app that can be used as a ringtone chooser, and then when you go to choose a ringtone you'll get a selection dialog again, and then you can remove the new app.

Thanks divinebovine, Out of curiosity, and for the sheer hell of it, I uninstalled ES file browser and task manager, restarted and reinstalled and it all works as before . . . . . consider me solved . . . .
