Only recently started using Navigator and Maps again, and now, I get this annoying "beeping" sound periodically. It sound much like the audible tone you get when you touch the phone. I found no settings in Navigator or Maps that deals with this in any way. Also, I'm using the phone in an iBolt car dock and it launches CarHome Ultra when connected. That has an option to notify on location changes (City Alerts) -- which is set to "none". I've only noticed this since the recent round of Maps and Navigator updates.

Anyone know what to look for to disable this annoying sound?

The most oft repeated phrase wrt maps, in these forums. ^ ;)

Those flamin' updates seem to be the devs' proving grounds for things that should be options, not to mention should be explained in the update notification with the choice to update or not to.

I'd go ahead and get into Application Manager and tap Maps and then do the "uninstall updates" thing, leaving you with the stock Maps and no beeps, etc. You'll have the update notification in Play Store, but you can ignore it as long as you don't have "auto update" checked in Play Store settings.
