The orders are fine....

After you place the pre-order online they must store it in some database. This database is most certainly NOT THE SAME as the orders that have been placed and are to be processed. My guess is, whenever the fabled day comes that they want to process these orders, some magical computer fairy looks at her zeroes and ones, sends this PRE-ORDER data to verizons system which processes orders. THESE ORDERS DO EXIST, they just have not been passed to the system which PROCESSES the orders. The orders are therefore NOT in the system that is available to the csr's YET. Calm the F down.

When the day comes, the PRE-ORDERS will be PROCESSED and then they will be VIEWABLE to the CSR's.

Ok MAYBE i went LITTLE far on the caps...

spoke to vzw customer service asking them to confirm my pending order. they said they can't but the manager "the horses mouth" said they were going to begin shipments on the 25th. !!!!!!!!!!!! :O

Could that explain the two different dates we were getting before the announcement? The 25th AND the 29th?

That would be great! It kind of makes sense if they have a large number of orders to process. They (or Fedex) may not have the capacity in the regional warehouses to handle all of them in one day.

Have folks force march about 30 miles with an M60, 100 round belt of ammo, 50 to 75 pounds of other stuff and THEN see if an extra ounce or two is an issue. Hey, at least you are not carrying the tripod as well!

25th is a Sunday. I doubt that's going to happen. Never had VZW ship out anything before Monday afternoon.

I've been hanging around here since the Passion rumor days, over 5 months. These last few days seem to be the hardest. Reading and watching all the reviews so far, it seems like the Incredible is living up to the hype. A rare thing these days. Very exciting.

Gosh, how I hope this is true! I had mine sent to my office because I go in on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and as we all know the 29th is a Thurs. It'd be a super-awesome bonus to have it on Tuesday! It'd be my luck that it would show up on Wed though, and I have to admit I'd probably make the 54-mile round trip to go pick it up.

I was at BJ's wholesale club last night and they had a dummy phone of the incredible. So naturally I picked it up and was checkin' it out, holding it and whatnot and I have a few questions/comments.

Are the dummy phones weighted to official specs? Reason I am asking is because this thing felt heavy! They had dummy units of the storm, eris, pretty much all the phones and I picked them all up and the storm felt lighter. That dummy phone def. felt heavier than a 3gs (and I know the incredible is lighter than a 3gs). That was disappointing, but I am assuming the dummy phones are weighted to official specs..

I picked up the eris dummy phone and IMHO the eris felt nicer to hold in your hand (regarding the back cover). You noticed the ridges on the incredible, but didn't really think about them. I think the smooth back would have been better, but the ridges weren't a big deal. I just thought the smooth back of the eris was a little nicer in your hand. The phone was not turned on (obviously) and didn't work or anything, it was a dummy, but I thought I'd just share some info.

All in all the phone seemed cool (physical aspect-wise). I am excited to play around with an activated one. If anyone could chime in on the dummy phone question, that'd be great.

The website says "front and back." does it have some kind of protect for the front? how's the feel of it?

It has a front and a back piece that snap together. I think it will look pretty cool, since you'll still be able to see the phone back thru the clear plastic which has the same contour. The front piece looks like it just covers the edge of the front of phone. The box says impact resistant plastic. It feels like smooth plastic (no texture), but I think will give some protection to the phone, but also leaves the full front accessible. I'm going to put a screen protector on since it doesn't really cover screen at all. Probably just slightly better quality than ones you'll be able to get on ebay for $5 soon, but I wanted something in time for when I received the phone. Used the CAS15 code to get a 15% discount and free shipping, so not a big investment and the phone will be protected Day 1. Bought a set of 3 inexpensive crystal screen protectors on ebay for $4.99 which I hope arrive by next Thurs. Looks like the more expensive better screen protectors won't be available until sometime after launch date.

Yeah, but be careful they keep track of how many times you call. I got, "You have called several other times, what is your problem?" when i called today. I wanted to say...oh, some dude I don't know said my order probably doesn't exist and I was so bored that I needed to find out for myself since you people are making us wait for the phone and the effect on some people is like dropping acid -- "I ride a dolphin to my phone over a sea of peanut butter but a computer grows legs and walks away when i get there.....I saw the phone, I touched it.....but it just doesn't exist any more now, man...it's a figment in my mind now, man"

I called 'em so many times that yesterday a CSR called ME to make sure I was doing okay! LOL

Anyone know of a good holster for jogging for the Incredible.
I am getting my new jogging shoes in about the same time and would like to listen to some tunes on my new incredible with out the worry of having it break into thousand pieces.
BTW here are my new running shoes...

You need to let me know how these shoes are. I'm reading Born to Run, and it makes it seem like "barefoot" running is so much easier on the legs... I'm just worried about dropping the cash on funny looking shoes if there is no tangible benefit.

It really has been a long wait and thursday seems so far away. I got yelled at by my CSR for calling in to Verizon too much about my Incredible pre-order...

Now, I just woke up about 15 minutes ago, and I'm drinkin' my coffee, and I almost sprayed my laptop screen when I read that.

I can just picture the CSRs in the call center:

"ZOMG!!! - Hey, Marge, can you believe how much these #$%^&* forum a$$#@|&$ are calling in about this D@#* phone?!?!? I've never seen such a bunch of %^&* crazy @$$^& messed up #&^%$ nervous wrecks in my life!"

I helped my parents upgrade phones online 2 weeks ago on a Saturday. The shipping email came the next day which naturally was a Sunday. The package then sat at Memphis the rest of Sunday and most of Monday. It arrived as expected on Tuesday. Stuff does ship out on Sundays.... It just doesn't go anywhere until Monday.

I know it's my first post, but thought I'd throw this out. I'm in Columbus, OH (Go Cavs) and just talked to CSR to order the gradient case. She happily completed that order, and asked if she could check the status of my pre-order for me while she was waiting on the finalization of my cover order (INCREDIBLY nice person). Anyway, she said she spoke to the Internet Orders Department, and my order is set and ready to ship the 27th for delivery the 28th! I have typically ahd great experiences with CSRs, so this wasn't too much of a surprise, but thought I'd share. It sounds like HAPPY INCREDIBLE WEEK will be more appropriate...

Well, it seems like there are enough posts telling people to calm down over pre-orders and the weight of the phone [although I have to interject and say that this isn't really the same - I'd be concerned too if I actually got to handle a dummy phone and found it heavier than I expected and felt comfortable with] so there's no reason for me to reiterate that.

Assuming all goes as planned and we get the phone on the 29th, can you imagine what will happen next week?

As a personal request - Please don't freak out about YOUR order not going through if some people continue to get them earlier. Alternatively, if no one get's them early, please don't post anecdotes of Verizon CSRs telling you they were shipping early and, thus, your order must be lost.

We will all get our phones most likely by the 29th. It's nearly over, let's try not to freak out!
