Help Update made contacts/phone dialing inaccessible (Virgin Mobile)

Updated yesterday (bad idea). My phone (Virgin Mobile) is not rooted. After update, when I click on the phone icon or the contacts icon, an error message comes up saying "Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped." I have done factory resets to no avail. After going through the motions with Virgin Mobile, it is sending me a replacement phone. I'd rather not wait. Is there a way for me to rollback to the previous software/firmware? Is the only option to "flash" my phone? Thanks.

You can't roll back a version update since the old version isn't kept, it's overwritten. You'd have to flash the old version and if anything went wrong they wouldn't accept the phone back - they'd claim that your flashing caused the problem so the phone is no longer warrantied. (You can't prove otherwise, and the burden of proof is on you.) If they're like most companies, you'll have the new phone before the end of the week, so wait it out.

I've actually been having the same problem with my F3 as well. The contacts and dialer were crashing every time i tried to use them after installing the update. I attempted to use a alternative contact app (Go Contacts EX) and was able to make phone calls.

Unfortunately after trying some more to fix it things have gone from bad to worse. Restoring the phone using the unbrick guide did restore the original contacts and dialer but unfortunately I cannot seem to connect to the virgin network now and am stuck in chameleon mode. My 3g doesn't work and activation fails. Also I've had errors relating to the sim card.

Looking like I will have to contact Virgin as well. I'm really disappointed because I've had 2 phones previously on Virgin and even dabbled in rooting one of them and never had any problems like this.

Have you updated your prl and profile. System setting --> Updates

This should help. Can't hurt. :)

Yeah, i've tried multiple times to update both the prl and profile but I keep getting a message saying "Network error. Please try again later". Now I assumed this would be because the 3g is not working, so I tried doing the same while connected to Wifi. The same thing happens however, the error is now "Authentication error". I'm not sure what to do.

The signal bars seem to alternate between almost full and completely empty with a red x above them. Once in a while, the sim card error comes up. Could this mean some sort of outage or even a sim card failure?
