There is an apk that was posted over on XDA by rawintellect that works for getting your MSL. He/she says its for the S4 on 4.3 but I just tested it on my phone which still has stock 4.1.2 (yeah yeah I know) and it worked great! I hate dealing with Boost on the phone so I've been waiting for something like this:

Get your MSL for Android 4.3 - xda-developers

A big thanks to Lordmage for posting this over in the Virgin mobile sub forum. Please stop by this thread and hit the thanks button:

edit: new official download link here: http://tools.flashingtools.com/ Thanks droidagnostic!

Another method is I always note the msl everytime i activate a new boost phone online. There are detailed instructions on how to program your phone that include the msl towards the end of the activation process. Saves me time calling or trying to find an app to check for it.

That's correct. I didn't know this until after I had already gone through the online activation but there is a screen at the end of the process that gives you the MSL along with some other information. Good to know next time I activate a Boost phone. Unfortunately, I have a feeling it's going to be a good while before I do that. I do believe I'll stick with the S3 for awhile. :D:thumbup:

I had the MSL for my One SV from activating it online and for my wife's F7 and wrote it down. When I got my S3 I tried to activate it online and the webpage said I couldn't at this time (they were doing maintenance) so I had to activate over the phone so I never got my MSL. Every time I call Boost I get someone in India or something who doesn't speak English very well and I get mad lol. If they are going to lie and say there name is Joe, Fred, or Janet (random names I just picked) the least they could do is actually sound like they actually know English.

LMFAO!!!! 👌👏

Thanks for the good laugh... but it is so true...

Is it really that much cheaper than to actually keep the business in America and hire Americans?

well in Virgin's case they said to me "we dont have it" "we are not allowed to just give it out" my phone had an issue, and after i fixed if my msl was all "2's" forgot that then found the app and was reminded

Wow man. That's nuts. I've called Boost several times to get my MSL and never had any problems getting it.

@mydian, just a heads up. Any time you call Boost you can tell them you want to speak with someone in the USA or who speaks English you can understand. I had someone tell me this some time back and I've actually done it. I've got to admit, it really helps when you can understand the person you are speaking with. Especially when you are new and don't know how to reset your phone or have to go into the hidden menu and change settings. :p:D

Sorry I guess I wasn't clear in my post.

2nd link in the OP takes you to the app download.

No app download anymore at xda (1st link in OP).

You think you could do the section a favor and just post a link to the app. I tried both links. The 1st one takes you to XDA where the link has been removed. The 2nd link you said was working seems to run in circles.

Thanks

Sorry guys, here is the link to the download.

I forgot i had to search to find it from the above links. (wetbiker7 was being polite, circular didn't begin to cover it). If it gets lost again i searched "SPC/MSL Reader from flash-it-now"

Note: that there were apparently some theft of commercial property issues with the original links in XDA. Read all the way through the XDA thread.

I think the link i gave you is from the legit owner, i got from his FB page

There is another link i found here from XDA thread (post #10) also but see note above (you want the BLACK "Download" button).

Excellent. I actually called Boost to get my MSL but wanted to add a link to this thread in my ROM etc thread for others to use.

This tool will definitely help members who do not already have their MSL.

I appreciate your prompt reply and getting a working link added. Thanks. :D
