Root [Boost Mobile] 4g issues on 4.4 roms?

See idk those builds are unpredictable and undependable I haven't been on cm in a while actually the last thing I ran that was tw was beanstalk 4.4 you should try that maybe it's a cm thing but once again sorry I'll get around to testing cm out again and let you know if I get the same results, but as far as tw we might all not like it but at least it's stable and reliable just horrible on battery life lol

If I recall right beanstalk is still aosp base like cm is and uses cm as its base isn't it? If so it would give the same problem, well at least for me it did last time I tried beanstalk
Every cm/aosp based ROM had the same results

It is but it's been running smoothly for me it's not updated as frequently like cm and when you say you where on stock 4.1.2 or 4.3 and this is really getting me and if you are in MK5 not mk3 that may be the issue because I have never texted MK5 modem only mk3

But I don't really believe that should be a problem it's weird because your saying your having all these bugs hold on let me make a backup and test beanstalk and cm

No. I'm on a bunch of ROMs heh. I flash a lot. I've tried everything out so far, all the TW ROMs work just fine. Anything aosp base lte doesn't work. Tried md7, mk3. Mk5 and they all do the same thing. I have a boost phone which is CDMA, not like tmo which is gsm. That may have something to do with it, dunno. I've tried I think every ROM out for this phone......beanstalk, jdsingle mk5, cm, and a few others, even looked into omnirom but they don't make for this phone.
Anything aosp lte just doesn't work and it didn't change to 3g in lte auto mode. You have to switch to CDMA auto to get 3g, but then you won't have lte .

As far as cm I'm on it. Things are working fine.....just with cm you have to tweak things and adjust and mid to get it to work.....IE: low volume, GPS issues on the s2 but works on this s3. Visit the cm forums for this phone dspr and you will see it's litterd with issues, from 10.1 to kk cm11.

Try this download moar 7.0.1 flash moar download the mk3 modem flash it then do a profile and prl update then download beanstalk and the gapps and the zip I posted then flash beanstalk let it boot it should connect to 1x not 4g once it does boot into recovery and flash the zip and you should have 4g because I just tested beanstalk and it works fine for me bro so you might have been on the wrong modem or something like that

As long as you paid boost for the 4G plan and have the boostmobile phone it shouldn't matter because mines is a boostmobile phone I bought it soon as they released it remember going to radios shack I was so happy lol
Actually if you where messing around with tmo gs3 roms you would have bricked it by now because you would have flashed the wrong Partions so it's not that

Actually I love beanstalk so much I might just run it for a while until I get irritated because of the bugs lol

Side note didn't you post that stuff about avatar rom i might try that

I absolutely love bean stalk! Avatar for Sprint worked alright for me too and it's fun. I like it Because it's a cm base but has the customizations of miui. I never really dug how miui felt but love the options so I think this is a great hybrid. It seems a bit less solid than bean stalk though sadly.

Overall I can't get the 4g to work even with the fix on those but I can only test it while at work since I don't get 4g at my house and my city has little Sprint lte support. I'm currently on wicked sensations and it's solid so I've been sticking to it.

I've got to admit, Wicked Sensations is my baby. I absolutely love that ROM. What's even better are the guys in the thread. Those guys are awesome and are always willing to help out not to mention the mods they are continuously throwing out there. I bet there have been 7 or 8 drop down backgrounds added in the past 2 or 3 days that guys have just put together and offered for download in the thread. Yup, definitely a kick butt group of guys over there.

This new tapatalk is screwing with me I don't know whether I'm hitting thanks or like lol!

I've noticed it is a huge thread and the Rom is just so stable and has so many features it's really well done I'm going to have to throw a coffee or a six pack their way come pay day because this is going to be my fall back Rom in case I flash something too buggy. Just wish it had the nav bar option since I hate this hard key home button!

Agreed I love beanstalk.

I also cannot get 4g working.

Phone: Boost Mobile SPH-L710
Setting: LTE/Cdma/Evdo

Only thing I can get to work is 3g, and that is under CDMA/EVDO/Auto.

Under LTE/CDMA/EVDO it doesn't show anything, no connection at all, not 4g, not lte, not 1x not 3g. Maybe I'm understanding (or misunderstanding) the settings wrong. Under LTE/CDMA/EVDO if 4g/lte does not show up, or is not present, is it suppose to switch to 3g and show the 3g icon?

I know with TW, you have either LTE or you have 3g/evdo, you can't have both/auto. Is it the same for AOSP/CM and the LTE/CDMA/EVDO is 4g/lte, where as the CDMA/EVDO/Auto is 3g/evdo?

In short:
AOSP/CM setting of CDMA/EVDO/Auto = TW 3g/evdo
AOSP/CM setting of LTE/CDMA/EVDO = TW 4G/LTE

If this is the case that would explain why I can't get it to work because 4g here is spotty where I am, sometimes it works, but most times it doesn't.

If however in LTE/CDMA/EVDO mode it is spose to switch over to 3g if it doesn't see 4g/lte then I am puzzled why it's not kicking down to 3g then.

SO maybe I need some explaining a bit as to how the settings work some, perhaps I am expecting something I should not be.

Nope those were my settings too. Lte appeared at the top like it should though and showed full connection and would switch to 3g when I left the area no problem. But when I tried to load the browser it would time out no matter what and no data would transfer. I'm wondering if I should try to switch back to that and snap a log cat when it faux connects? That's why I started this thread I just read about everyone saying how 4g just didn't work but it obviously is doing something on my phone.

That's weird, I don't even GET a icon at all, just bars. When I switch over it shows the 3g icon and bars, but for some reason lte does not work at all......doesn't even show LTE at the top.

UPDATE:
Bingo, I got it to work WOOHOO!!!!!

Where I live 4g/lte is spotty so a lot of times I don't even get it here. I had thought it was an automatic thing for switching, but I guess it's not.

Under tile settings there is an LTE toggle, as well as a data (3g) toggle.

What I do to make it work is, I toggle LTE on and of coarse use it for whatever is needed......then toggle LTE off. Now this will then result in no data at all, so the workaround for this is to toggle data (3g) off then on again and bingo 3g appears.

I JUST put this on again tonight so I am holding reserves for stuff to work until I can test it, I just wanted to pass this on for others.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I can get 4g to connect with a bare install not flashing anything additional even so there has to be some significance to that. I will do a clean flash of beanstalk tomorrow at work to see if I can get it again and get a log. Maybe some good will come of it

Since I got it working now, I'm sure it'll work with other stuff installed....I just wanna try the battery saver app I have (DS battery saver) and see if it messes at all with the 3g and 4g. I'll have to wait till I get closer to town at work tomorrow and I have 4g to test it with, so I'll report back and let people know.

That would be the only real thing I could see messing with it at all, since it turns off data completely to save battery. Other than that I don't see an issue.

Update:
Another hitch in the giddyup.

Upon reboot, the phone network gets set back to cdma/auto again. You can switch back to LTE/CDMA, and i will work, until you reboot, and it will then set it back to CDMA/Auto again.

It looks as if reboot sends it back to 3g only again mode. Not a drastic annoyance, but still an annoyance none the less. It's these small annoyances that kinda make me want to revert back to TW, simply because things work.
Don't get me wrong I'm not pointing this at the dev AT all, I know it's not their fault......just pointing out the annoyances is all with this phone and aosp base roms and how it seems to be a lot of work and adjusting and tweaking and installing this or that just to get basic options to work...IE: sound/volume levels and 4g, as well as gps on the s2.

Looks like the lte part comes on but no lte at all. So I guess it's still broke for me.

This is so weird first time I've heard of what your experience but glad you have it halfway working I tired man but idk I still think it may be your area maybe because I'm in Chicago and it works fine mk3 baseband no connection or wifi problem I've had a few random reboots or times when the data doesn't connect but it fixes itself or I have to toggle the data back on nothing like your level I hope maybe we can get a decent amount of people running asop so we can see if this is another issue

Anyone else with lte running asop experiencing lte issues?

Yep. That's what happens for me too. Oh well I guess

Happens for you too huh wow this is crazy and yeah its an decent amount of work to get asop working especially with it not being stable I still haven't figured out how to make mms work with 4G lol

My settings are cdma+lte/evdo
So that's weird can I ask when you were on tw since you didn't have lte in your area was it set to cdma only or lte on tw because that could be why it's sticking or maybe you need to do a fresh install

It happens on any baseband I use, md7, mk3, mk5, all same affect.
It's weird that it like is there but not....it "says" it's there, but the LTE never connects. I know it's not my area either, because on ALL tw roms I get lte just fine without any issues.
At home it's spotty, so that's why I waited tot est it on the way to work...My drive time is approx 45mins to 1 hour to work, and I carpool so normally I ride......so I have time to test things with the phone, and I tested it multiple times all the way to work, and lte didn't connect once. With 3g it's perfectly fine, works like a dream, but lte just does not connect for whatever reason.

You mean LTE/CDMA/EvDo don't you?

Yes it's on lte/cdma/evdo and I've experienced what your saying the looking under settings and it says it's lte and it's searching but never connected but that's because it's the wrong lte apns and when you flash the zip it should fix that that's why it's really getting to me because I had the same issue as you before I flashed the zip it took a while to get the right apns for 4G to work so it's puzzling out works for me and other but not you and glare

HA holy crap I'm a goof sometimes, lol, I never flashed the zip. I am so sorry HiiiPowers. I get in a rom flashing mode and go ape and flash a ton of stuff fixing things trying things out to fix thing and I guess my brains gets all crossed wires and stuff so I forget what I've done and what I've fixed or what roms I've tested, and why I didn't like said rom. I guess that comes with the rom-a-holic territory.
I was probably focued on another issue trying to solve it.

Let me go flash that zip and report back.

I just hope lte is working ok tonight so I can test it.

OH yeah that worked nicely.

A little clunky how you have to toggle it, but it works fine once toggled.
For me, to toggle 3g and lte doing all this in the tile toggles..... I have to turn data off, enabled lte enable data again, and lte kicks up. Toggling back to 3g is the reverse, toggle data off, disable lte, enabe data again. It works good though, except you have ta wait a few seconds before toggleing data on an off, because if you throttle to fast it never enabled, and you have to toggle it off and on once again....so it's advisable to count like 1001-1002-1003 before each toggle to give the data time to disconnect and reconnect again.

THANKYOU HiiiPowers.

Just out of curiosity, will this work on ANY AOSP/CM...IE cm11?

I ask because I had a really major issue with battery earlier today on beanstalk, and my battery drained from 80% to off in a matter of like 1-2 hrs....was horrbile.....and I also am not sure what caused it either.

It's working and acting fine right now but in case I have the issue, I may head back to cm11 M2 build.

It's cool man gave me a reason to pericardial check the forms so your golden also it's a guide on flashing cm11 or your choice beanstalk on the working roms thread on the first page

Great we got it sorted out and you have 4g just know subway surfers doesn't work on newer asop roms idk on 4.2 it worked but not on any versions past that why, but go spread the word young lad get works as I stated go go lol

BAH, that stinks....I was gonna d/l that game.....I haven't played it yet,. but a friend has it and it looks like a lot of fun.

On a side note I decided to go with M.O.A.R 7 Beta2 this go round, just not in the mood to do the setup tweaking needed to get stuff like I want/need it IE: sound voule with viper4android, xposed mods, installing superSU, because the superuser baked in doesn't work with viper4android, but installing it doesn't casue issues either, all the rebooting you gotta do, etc..etc....just not in my CM mode.

Moar is nice, it's my TW go to really, and so far I just installed it and havn't had any issues that I can see at all. Plus Subway Surfer should work ok now :).

I'm kinda growing increasingly.....not bored really......I dunno what the word I wanna use is, but I'm just getting where I don't wanna fuss with stuff just to make it work correctly right now.

Hey is moar getting stable because I was on 7.1 and wanted to try the beta but not really down for the bugs I'll just stay on beanstalk deal with those bugs and have better battery life lol
And yeah subway surfers works on any other rom just not ones based on cm4.3+ I think it's a kernel issue because you can download and install it just fine just never loads gives you a black screen and a I found another game that did it to can't recall the name though, and yeah the rebooting and setting up is long but even worse is when the phone reboots itself I've had it happen today alone 3 times

I haven't personally have not had an issue that I can tell so far with beta 2. I've tested a few things, seems to run ok. Let me know and I'll see if I can test something for ya, but so far I haven't stumbled across anything.
