do you guys like the g2?

I got the lg g2 then traded it for the droid maxx because i found out that the g2 battery was not as strong as the maxx. but my max went from 40%-0 in 5 minutes and after 6 songs went down 2% when i listened to my g2 for 2 1/2 hours it went down 5%. I know over all the maxx has a better battery by 500mAh but the g2 is just as good isnt it? Is the g2 battery alot better then the iphone5? thats what i had before. Just nervous switching back but i loved the g2 features and stuff.

so whats ur opinions on what i said.

Definitely, can't think of a phone I'd take over the g2.

I've still got the G2,but,the G FLEX is definitely worth taking a look at.

Basically a larger version of the G2, but, has a few refinements/touches in the U/I that, if forced to choose, I'd have to select the G FLEX.

I'm sure the development community &/or an OEM update {to 4.4.x} will incorporate some/all of the features.

It's actually quite useful, especially in landscape. Even typing seems more natural w/the curved surface.

The couple of extras that I referred to are OEM desktop rotates to landscape, one-handed operation of on-screen buttons (left or right, adjustable on the fly) & the multi-window.

If nothing else, it's worth a trip to a store that has an untethered demo (preferably) to take a look.
Perhaps the few additional U/I touches aren't enough to warrant an upgrade off-contract, but, still worth looking at.

should I go back to the g2? I got the green light from Verizon saying that I am able to switch back to the g2 if I would like no problem since im still in my 14 days. My maxx now already 40 minutes off charger is at 99% when it took at least an hour of the g2 standby to go down 1%. What do you guys think? Do you think the g2 battery still blows away the iphone 5 battery?

Xxv.... I left you a post in another thread, indicating that if you don't do a few charge cycles on a device, you can take your battery estimation with a grain of salt. Anyone with a smartphone is going to tell you the same.

Realistically, not every phone is going to perform in the same way across all usage patterns. You should know that it's not always easy to do an apple to apple comparison because a device might perform really great in one context, and not so great in another.

How does the device perform for you in the manner in which you use it, and the environment you find yourself in? (People have different battery longevity depending on if they have access to WiFi for example, or good cell tower reception with 4G).

Blow away an iPhone? Well, my wife has an iPhone 5s, and she had to get one of those cases with an extra battery built in to it to get the kind of run time I get on my G2.

As in everything YMMV.

Also, battery life (%) indicated @ any time isn't absolutely accurate anyway, less your sitting @ 0% w/a dead phone.

My experience w/the G2 battery indicating seems to be inaccurate for the 1st 30 minutes - 1 hour of on-time after a full charge. Unless I'm into some real intense tasking, the % hardly moves, then, afterwards, seems to indicate more accurately for the rest of the battery discharge.

Regardless, the G2 is hard to beat for battery life. It's a toss-up between the G2/GALAXY NOTE 3/MOTOROLA's latest line-up.

Best phone i've ever had, amazing battery life, fast performance, great camera and the phone isn't any bigger than an S4.

Exactly this! I wouldnt mind the camera being a little quicker, but it has great quality. I love the screen size and non-existent bezel. I just wish I could get rid of the LG/Verizon logos... then it would be perfect. And now with immersive mode, even better!

I just got the G2 on Saturday and love it! It was a hard decision being I had an S4 and loved it (the battery life, ir blaster, split screen, call quality, noise cancellation, official bumper case, etc.). I had a T-Mobile Jump burning a hole in my pocket and I had it narrowed down to a Nexus 5, G Flex, or Xperia Z1s.

I stayed away from the Nexus 5 because of the battery life. The G Flex was awesome, but I will wait for the next iteration where hopefully LG will have most of the kinks worked out that comes with new technology (it was also almost $200 more than the G2). The Xperia Z1s handled sluggishy even though it has the same internals (maybe it was just the floor model?). I've also heard people say the battery doesn't last as long as it should. But, if the Xperia had "knock on" I may have bought it! LOL

Anyway. I'm blown away at how fast the G2 is! It was clearly faster than the phones I tried at T-Mobile listed above (again, maybe it was just floor models with issues?). I love the IR blaster more than the one on my S4 (so cool making my own remote for my Sony stereo). The "knock on" feature is great and I'm catching myself doing it on other devices. I'm only on my second charge and getting excellent battery life! Being able to change LED colors for different contacts and having the LED light rim around the power button light up for notifications and during phone calls is nifty too. I wanted to support LG for trying something different with the back button placement (works pefectly). I've had zero software or hardware issues so far (but the phone is new).

My only concerns are I'm using the official LG folio case which I'm pretty sure won't protect the phone during a fall. I'm a big sucker for Samsung's official bumper cases (the ones for the S4 are some of the best cases ever made for a phone -- really high quality and don't wear down). I was hoping LG would make their own bumper case to fit the phone like a glove. A lot of generic cases are hit and miss for me. Also, my screen protectors don't seem to fit the phone (I was stuck with the T-Mobile brand being that was all they had and no one else was carrying protectors). I'm not sure if this is because of the curved glass at the edges? May have to order others online. The charger port and usb cable is a really tight fit. I'm worried I'll break the port. Also, I find the speaker to be a little soft.

Update: Speakers seem really loud and clear now. I played with the sound settings a little bit and I can hear music playing on my phone on a different level of my house. Speaker phone was also really loud and clear today. Definitely louder than my S4, but it may be because the speakers are located on different spots of the devices.
