Help 4.3 messed my S4 up..... HELP

I updated to 4.3 about 2 months ago and it keeps crashing and basically has ruined my phone, I don't want to factory reset and I know 4.4 is out in the UK as a few of my mates have it. Now I can't seem to get 4.4 as it says I'm already on the latest firmware (4.3) which is a load of bull. Tried it via Kies and get the same (or similar) message.

Why can't I get 4.4? And will 4.4 fix the crashing/freezing problem? It was perfect before I updated. Thanks!

Depends on the carrier. Also for me I am refusing to upgrade to the newest kitkat because of so many issues that people been having with them. I have a tablet that runs cyanogenmod on it which is like a copy-cat of the kitkat. Probably the best thing to do with it keep crashing is either flash a fresh stock rom, but if you don't know how to do that the best thing and safest way is to factory reset. I know you dont want to but factory resets usually fixs issues. If this doesnt work the only other option I would recommend is using odin and flashing the stock rom to it.

Well, since almost all issues that I am aware of with 4.3 have been addressed successfully with an FDR, I wouldn't completely discount doing one because it may be your only recourse. I would also be leery of doing another upgrade on top of an upgrade that is evidently not working properly. It may compound the issues. There are several threads out that end in an FDR after the KitKat upgrade also. IMHO, if you know that the KitKat upgrade is available and your current install is not recognizing that, I would do the FDR on 4.3 and before setting everything back up, take the KitKat update. After that, let the smoke clear and make sure things are working correctly again then set you device back up.

There are a number of other options you can try , other than Factory Data Reset. See the Update Problems - Dummies Guide

It is out for, "some", UK phones... not all. It depends on your phone's CSC code. See #1.3 of 23 Galaxy S4 models - know yours?

If it has not been released... you won't get it. There are other reasons, as given in #1.4 of my previous link.

Your problems may well be caused by user apps and settings, as described in the first link, and flashing another firmware over these, particularly KitKat, will not solve your problems I am afraid.
