Help Google Earth.... umm?

Oh noes!

Installed via the link, but apparently this version is not Incredible ready. Tells me it needs SD card (8GB sd card installed) and then hangs. Restart app, black screen.

No matter. I guess we just need to wait :)

I installed it that way last night and had to "allow" it to run an "unknown application" and after that, it installed and runs fine. My 16GB card hasn't arrived yet, so I have the 2GB card they sent me with my Incredible and it installed fine with that in.

It only needs the card for the download, after that, it installs to the phone's memory. Try deleting and starting over. It should work

ok...so how do I install it? - downloaded the .apk file to my sd card....how do I select to install now??

First you have to allow installation of unknown sources:

Menu -> Settings -> Applications. Check Unknown Sources.

Then browse the market and download/install Astro File Manager.

Open Astro and browse for your SD card and find the .apk. Select it and install.

Did you download the google earth that NKT listed above? That's the only one I tried and I can use voice search. I'm sure your searching correctly but just in case... To begin the search tap on the magnifying glass (search button) on the bottom right of your phone. When you do that a search window appears, in the search pane it says "Example Pizza" just to the right of that in the top right corner of your screen is a microphone symbol. Click on the mic symbol. When the mic screen appears....... Speak. Should work.
